What happened to Twitter Notifications? (1 Viewer)

Up until a week or so ago, I only received Twitter notifications if someone responded to or liked one of my tweets.  Now I am getting notifications that are telling me I missed a "great tweet by X person" ...wtf??  I don't want these notifications - the wonderful tweets I have missed are never anything special - how the hell do I change this?  I didn't see anything in the settings.

This is almost as bad as the timeline that doesn't by go by time ...####ers.

My notifications went off the rails a while ago too. Can’t remember how I stopped it, it may have been the quality filter. Make sure that’s turned on to start.

Here’s a list of things to try....

Yes very annoying but depending on your phone (I have Galaxy) it's pretty easy to go into the menu and customize the notification settings to only buzz you for tweets and mentions of you.

Thanks!  When I go to notifications I don't see anything to click on to determine "all" vs "mentions" just this:

Notifications

Mute notifications from people:You don't followWho don't follow youWith a new accountWho have a default profile photoWho haven't confirmed their emailWho haven't confirmed their phone number

These filters will not affect notifications from people you follow. Learn more

Advanced:Quality filter

Improves the quality of Tweets you'll see. Learn more

See who you've muted or blocked.

Mute specific words from your notifications and timeline.

On one of the "In case you missed" notifications, tap the arrow in the top right corner. Select "See less often." You may have to do it a few different times but it should eventually stop or nearly stop those kinds of notifications.
