Just throwing this out there.

Cutler would have Holt, Lloyd, Hester and Olsen. Some very nice options. Chicago is under tha cap and could afford a 1 or 2 year deal with Holt. Any thoughts?

Chicago's D is still among the best in the league and will be the front runner for the division.

Torry Holt is all but done. There is a reason no one has signed him yet. If he were even close to as great as he was in his prime, he would be fielding tons of offers, and would have taken one by now, but it is more likely that no one is offering what he still thinks he is worth, so that is why he is still unsigned.

Per Rotoworld:

Torry Holt-WR-Rams Apr. 3 - 1:36 pm et

Torry Holt's agent said he "doesn't see" the free agent wide receiver seriously considering the Bears.

"We have several other teams that are interested," Kennard McGuire said. "Torry has a process and he is going through that process. We will [have another visit] it is just a matter of time." Holt would make sense for Chicago, but it doesn't sound like he's interested.

:sadbanana: Holt is at this point, perhaps an average receiver with experience. Nowhere near a #1 now. Lloyd sucks. Hester's a decent deep target but not consistent. Olsen is by far their best option, but this group is bottom 10 on the whole even with Holt, maybe bottom 5.

Hasn't he already visited both the Ravens and the Titans? Seems there is some interest in the guy beyond passing interest in an average WR...

I disagree with this statement. It is the time of year right now. Teams want to see what happens with draft. If Holt came at a good price, than he would be signed but he is still looking to cash in at this point and is not rushing. Teams looking in Jags and Titans means there is still something there and all about timing and money right now. I am not sure why the Chicago does not fit as I thought it was about who offered the best contract in the end and gave him chance for SB ring at the same time

By pursuing Holt, Lovie runs the risk of offending his star recevier Devin Hester. He'd be well-advised to consult with Hester before making any calls or we could see Hester demanding a trade soon.

I expect Holt, Harrison, Plax, Jason Taylor plus Zach Thomas to all be signed by Chicago by the end of the weekend. Look for Strahan to come out of retirement too.

Not a lot of options at WR out there right now(Holt,Harrison,Porter,Reggie Williams,Curry,Hackett,Matt Jones,MacDonald) but I would think having a good QB will make it easier to sign a free agent in years to come.

Holt's not done but is likely asking for more than teams are willing to pay right now.

I agree with whoever said that teams are waiting to see how the draft goes. But I expect Holt to be employed soon thereafter and depending where he goes to put up somewhere between 70-80 catches, near 1000 yards, and be somewhere between 6-8 TDs.

Consider that with the disaster that the Rams were last year he still caught 64 for near 800 and 3.

Too bad Owens rushed into signing with Buffalo.

Cutler to Owens could have owned the Windy City.
