Yes, you heard right. I am coaching my 6 yr olds little league team (tball/coaches pitches depending upon ability, but whatever). We show up for team pictures tonight, you know the big ripoff where all of the parents spend way too much on pictures of junior. Anyway, we are the REDSOX. I told him he had to change in the garage and the hat was not allowed in the house. (He laughed and said no way DAD). Being transplanted to Cleveland from NJ I can't expect any locals to understand but maybe some FBG's will. OF COURSE, one of his best friends from school is playing for his Dad's team and they are the NYY. I offered a trade on the spot and was declined. His friend does not like the Yankees, and neither does his Dad, but they clearly did not get the entire issue I have with wearing the Boston "B" for 12 games + 3 practices, and they just saw some movie with the NYY in it and seem kind of excited about it. Added to this is the fact that the little #### kid is reveling in the fact that we are the Redsox to the point he wanted to to wear his uniform to bed this evening as he is VERY aware of my love for the NYY and roots against them just because...

I don't expect any real solutions other than the bonfire I am having at the end of the season with the Caps and Jerseys..................... Thanks for listening!

My then 8 year old was the Yankees during a Fall Little League season. I only made one comment about him being on the Yankees (we both hate the Yankees).

After the last game of the season he promptly tossed his Yankees hat in the garbage saying "I hated wearing that hat!".

I've never been so proud!

The more you object and make a big deal out of it the more you'll push him to become a Red Sox fan.Just let nature take it's course. Eventually he'll be brainwashed by his friends & family and subjected to all the media hype that surrounds the team. This in turn will lead to him jumping on the low & slow moving bandwagon that every other Yankee fan has taken.Good Luck.
