Curious what people think counts as "successful". Please vote for the minimum accomplishment you would consider a success. There is no "other" option because I want you to pick one and only one, however, feel free to post your thoughts.

Having high expectations of yourself is the best way to maximize your talents.Look at Belichick. He wins the super bowl and he doesn't even take a moment to enjoy it because he's already deliberating offseason moves. To him, things should have been even better.I'll choose the highest available option here and say winning the super bowl.

You should know as a Browns' fan that you have to crawl before you walk. Your definition of a success season should be a first round draft choice that isn't a bust or at least stays off the IR.

From this Panther's fan perspective...Beating Atlanta and Tampa at least once and making the playoffs was the bogey I was hoping for before the season. Thumping the Patsies was a bonus. This season has been a success.

Winning the division. Just like I consider winning the conference in CFB the bare minimum for success.Basically, anytime you can buy a new hat is ok by me. I bought two hats this year. :bye:

I think it's relative. Pats fans have a different expectation than Seahawk fans. Bottom line, success means moving forward and that means finishing better than the year before. For me, that;s winning a playoff game. But that doesn't mean I'll be satisfied with just that!!!

It depends on the team and the year. For the Colts - 2002 meant making the playoffs, 2003 meant winning a playoff game, 2004 meant getting the the Super Bowl. So, 2002 and 2003 were successes, 2004 was not. Clearly this year - anything less than a Super Bowl victory would be a failure - and I've never said that before. For other playoff teams this year, I'd say the Redskins, Jags, Bengals, Bears, Bucs, and Giants can claim successful seasons without winning a playoff game this season. The Broncos, Seahawks need to win a playoff game (and therefore make the conference title game). The Steelers and Panthers are the hardest two to judge because they had Super Bowl aspirations before the season but it is difficult to see either making the Super Bowl this season because they'd have to win 3 road games to do it. The Pats and Colts are "win the Lombardi or bust" teams this season.
