Like the Johnny Utah votes.  I gave it strong consideration, but had to go Neo.
It's Neo, but when I saw the thread my mind immediately went to Utah so I'm voting for him anyway.

You're cold because all of the blood is running out of your body, Roach. You're gonna be dead soon. I hope it was worth it.

Agree.  But still think Ted is his signature roll.  Surprised so many went with Neo.
Tie breaker for me was there was more quantity with the Matrix franchise. Dead even otherwise.

ETA that Ted was also a reboot of Tod.

He's more iconic in Bill & Ted, Point Break, and The Matrix for sure but I voted The Replacements, for some reason I think that role fits him so well.

I am an F-B-I agent!

Vaya con Dios /in worst Spanish accent ever recorded on film.

Has to be Johnny Utah.

Number 9, THE Ohio State Buckeyes, All Conference. . . beat SC 3 years ago in the Rose Bowl. . . Johnny Freakin' Utah!

There is only ONE correct answer.

"The program Smith has grown beyond your control. Soon he will spread through the city as he spread through the Matrix.  You cannot stop him...but I can."

He really has good instincts picking movies to play in. I cannot think of anyone else being Neo or Ted.

Maybe the most under appreciated movie star of our time. So many good movies. But Neo truly elevated his career to world wide star. So Neo it is.
Idk, I interpreted "signature role" as his biggest (mainstream) role, so I voted John Wick.

There's probably a lot of recency bias in that as Matrix is 25 years old now, but without thinking too much about it, I feel like Wick is bigger than Neo (slightly).

His (random) appearance in a couple episodes of the Netflix series "Ancient Apocalypse" season 2 is definitely....something.

When the original Matrix came out, it became a cultural icon. Kids and young adults would walk around the mall dressed as Neo. The long black coat he wore became very popular. The Matrix seeped not only into fashion, but also speech patterns, cinematography, technology.

I do not discount the greatness of the Wick films, but I don't feel it comes close to how big Matrix was when it came out.

100%.

I love the Wick movies. But Matrix was a game changer.

Looking back at his career(thus far), it is amazing how many iconic franchises he has been a part of.

I'm surprised he has not been part of the MCU, LOTR, or Star Wars. I wonder if he was approached and turned them down?
