Fox has a reputation of being loyal to his veterans and nothing in the preseason, or early regular season, has given any indication that Williams will be nothing more than a backup this season, barring injury. Most of the Williams hype is pure pipe dreams, driven by rookie mania. Happens every year.I have Foster in my leagued and tried to trade him, but no takers.Everyone was buying Williams. Word was Williams was going to be the starter in a week or two.Now what? How much does this help Foster's Value? Is he a keeper or try and move after he had 20 carries?
I think DeShaun is the guy to start off every game. If he's going pretty good, he's the guy. If he's struggling a bit, Williams comes in for a spark. Seems to be the way of it so far.
Basically.Word of a job transitioning doesn't equal it actually happening. Foster is a decent RB3 but is most likely untradable. I would say Rhodes and Dillon are similar.I think DeShaun is the guy to start off every game. If he's going pretty good, he's the guy. If he's struggling a bit, Williams comes in for a spark. Seems to be the way of it so far.
Foster didn't lose yardage on any carries and DeW had -4 and -3 on two of his four carries. The Panthers also took a big lead early and maybe Foster was considered the safer back (even though he did lose a fumble in the 3rd quarter). Why did Williams see almost no action, at least according to the stat line?
Don't know, just looked at the P-B-P.Didn't see the game yesterday. What was Foster's fumble like? Hard hit, lousy exchange, etc.
there have been many on the board who emphasized fox is very loyal to vets (played davis when it was obvious to everybody that foster was better), long before last week...It is funny how opinions change on guys so quickly. Where were all these posts last week? Why weren't all the experts saying, not to worry, Foster will still get the majority of the carries even though Williams out performed Foster. Easy to say after the fact.
that makes him good?20 > 4that's allHe's just not that good.
well, I was going to say DeShaun Foster = SPEED!!that makes him good?20 > 4that's allHe's just not that good.![]()
Apparently the coaches think so. That's all I care about. The better they think he is, the more carries he'll see.that makes him good?20 > 4that's allHe's just not that good.![]()
You just weren't listening to the right experts...primary John Fox.It is funny how opinions change on guys so quickly. Where were all these posts last week? 20 > 4that's allHe's just not that good.
No. But id does make him more valuable from a FF perspective. It doesn't matter how good D. Williams is, if Fox keeps the 80%/20% split working, Williams would have to average about 12 yards a carry to be valuable. Some have said FF production = talent + opportunity. I would submit to you that if you imagine it as a math equation it is more like "FF production = talent times opportunity".Lauryn Hill said:that makes him good?20 > 4that's allHe's just not that good.![]()
It doesn't matter if it is a plus or a multiplier - the problem is quantifying "talent" in the equation.Certainly, if you quantify it as YPC, a multiplier is what you want to use. Some have said FF production = talent + opportunity. I would submit to you that if you imagine it as a math equation it is more like "FF production = talent times opportunity".
