What is with the Chester Taylor is "probable" blurb (1 Viewer)

What is this all about?

News: Vikings RB Chester Taylor (ankle) is listed as probable for Week 4 at Buffalo. Practice was not completed at the publishing time of the injury report, so it is unknown if Taylor practiced on Thursday.

Analysis: The Vikings are committed to the run game and that bodes well for Taylor. Right now, he is listed as probable but continue to monitor the situation before making a lineup decision. Taylor had a hard time finding running room in Week 3 but could be in for a better game at Buffalo in Week 4. Definitely start him for that game as at most a No. 2 Fantasy RB.

Well, I agree it is one of the worst blurbs i've seen on CBS and that is saying something.... No mention of a body part or anything.

I don't know for sure, but I'd say he is probably fine. Childress doesn't like wussies on his team, and he likes Chester. I'd say that bodes well.

Relax. If a player misses practice time he has to be listed on the injury report. The further into the season the more players end up being listed on the report. I don't think I've ever seen a guy listed as probable and not play that weekend.

The only thing they talked about on the radio here in MSP this morning is that he "tweaked" his ankle. When they interviewed him, he said with a grin "I have a touch of the flu." Obviously they're trying to keep the Bills from teeing off on Chet.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's nothing more than the typical bumps and bruises of a season. If it were a high ankle sprain there'd be more news.

I have him in one league and am starting him without reservation.

He missed a portion of practice and was added to the report as probable with an ankle. He's expected to start. But watch today to see how he does.

Vikings :: RB

RB C. Taylor Rests, Probable

Kevin Seifert, Minneapolis Star-Tribune - [Full Article]

The Vikings' RB Chester Taylor leads the NFL with 75 carries. He has occasionally given way to RB Mewelde Moore, RB Artose Pinner and RB Ciatrick Fason, but he has carried the ball 87 percent of the time. Taylor said Thursday he is trying to maintain his regular weekly schedule of practice reps. But the Vikings apparently have taken the first step toward keeping him fresh, having him sit out part of practice because of what they termed an ankle injury. He is a "virtual certainty" to play Sunday.

Sounds like they are just resting him. Because he was held out of a portion of practice, they had to list him. As a formality, they may have just included the ankle as the reason. The team says ankle, Chester says a touch of the flu. Start him if you got him :thumbup:
