What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Went local.

Hailstorm Pacific Rim west coast pale ale (formerly known as Captain Serious). Will save the rest of these for the Bears debacle tomorrow.

Now onto a growler of Hailstorm Prairie Madness IPA with mandarina, hull melon, and hallertau blanc hops.
I live about 10 minutes away from them. What are your favorites? Anything you don't like?

Have you tried 350 Brewing?

I am about the same distance.

I really like Prairie Madness, Pacific Rim, Vlad the Impaler (RIS), and Vlad the Conquistador (RIS with a whole bunch of stuff added). Alabama Hot Tub was good too. Also thought the first anniversary sour was ok and had a lot of promise.

I didn't like Jesus Toast but l am not the biggest fan of belgian beers. Thought the Dominatrix IIIPA was way too sweet.

As far as 350, yes I have been. Much prefer Hailstorm although I thought Crook County was good and was really surprised at how much I liked Stupid Kid. The rest of what I have had there was meh or below meh.

Went to my bottle shop today and picked up their last 2 bottles of WW Pernicious and Tyranny. Looking forward to enjoying them tonight.

Still catching some sweet leftover kegs from GABF week on tap around town:

Firestone Walker Helldorado blonde barleywine aged in bourbon barrels

Surly Pentagram dark sour ale aged in red wine barrels

Stone Barrel-Aged Brown Ale with Balaton sour cherries

Ecliptic Electra Framboos Belgian pale ale with raspberries and cocoa nibs

Mackinnon Brothers Crosscut Canadian Ale - my go to lately if I'm having a bunch

Wellington County Dark Ale

Broadhead Grindstone Amber

Junction Conductors Craft Ale

This means nothing to anyone because Canada, but the first two are real good, Broadhead just ok, and Conductors good but everyone and their mother makes a similar American Pale Ale these days.

hey bromigos i just finished cleaning my oven and now i am enjoying the one beer i have in my house a sculpin ipa it is good but now i wish i had two craps to that take that to the bank broonebeeros

Community Beer Works Wet Frank (their flagship Frank APA wet-hopped with local Chinook)

Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest

Hermit Thrush Barrel-Aged Farmhouse Tripel

Broo Doo is awesome. If you swing by, I've heard good things about Pear Bear -- kind of amazing considering how crappy FFF's previous attempts at sours have been. I wanted to swing by and grab some Friday, but couldnt get away from work for lunch -- and no way I am dealing with the ####show there after 5 on a Friday on the way home.

I make sure to grab at least 4 Broo Doo's a year. Big fan of wet hopped beers and this one is a favorite of mine (alongside Founders Harvest).

Almost took a ride out there last night around nine and hit up 18th Street too for some Deal With the Devil. Not going to happen today either so looks like I might have wait until it hits distribution which is probably next week. I hope.

If you're ever worried about missing out or getting any kiosk-only stuff, I work for Lee out of The Times building less than 1/2 mile from FFF -- typically I can go at lunch and avoid the big crowds w/ no problem. I can grab / hold whatever for ya and we can likely meet to transfer at the border pretty easily.

Awesome. Thanks for the offer.

I live in Frankfort which is a straight shot down 80 so it's really not a difficult trip. I used to do it all of the time a few years back but there is so much other good stuff out there I don't see the need to make the drive as much.

Moved on to the last sixer or so of my case of Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest. Another great fall session beer IMO. Gonna have to go to Costco and grab more I think.

No problem. Also if you do head over, Liquor Stop on Indianapolis in Highland is well worth a stop too. Lots of NWI / SW Michigan craft as well as hard to find stuff from elsewhere.

Cracked one of my two remaining bombers of Wigsplitter. It's only 3:15 -- this is gonna be q wild afternoon / night I think.
You know you're having a good day when you're dropping random q's.
Indeed. I can always judge by the random looks my wife (sometimes even the kids) are throwing at me -- putting up Halloween decorations today -- "eff it, straight enough" definitely got a "WTF?" look so I'm in good shape. LOL.

Sweet. Sounds like a piss off the deck night....

Oh and Wigsplitter is awesome. Wish I bought more.

90 degrees here and I did a ton of yard work prepping the property for winter. Hot, dirty and sweaty. Put the Bruin game on and found a couple cans of Grapefruit Sculpin hiding in the fridge door with the mayo. Perfect.

In Atlanta, just had a can of Orpheus' Life.Death.Life.Truth IPA (not bad but not as good as reviews had me believe), and now having a Creature Comforts Tropicalia on draft. Just fantastic, and way better than the canned version I had a month ago. I was hoping to find some fresh cans but nowhere has any right now...I may take a growler of it home.

Neapolitan Stout with friends. Great bee for the autumn weather.
Have not had this one yet but been meaning to try it. Will sneak it in as "free beer" when I go to the grocery store.
Really? This is such a good stout, I really like it. Can taste the strawberry, vanilla and chocolate....reminds me I need to grab some soon!

I was able to snag 3 bombers of Sure Bet :)

Working on a growler of Another Dimension from 7venth Sun. What a great DIPA. Done with Galaxy (per Untappd), which isn't typically my favorite but damn they knocked this out of the park!

Wow....Goose Island's Rare Bourbon County event is all sorts of interesting this year. Tickets are a lottery only, if you win the lottery you can buy 2 tickets @40 each. Then you can buy up to 3 Rares @60 per.....220 for 3 bottles of beer is pretty ####### steep. Although these were aged for 2 years in 35 year old Heaven Hill's barrels.

I initially bought 2 and ended up picking up another yesterday. I figure that's enough for now.

The price is ridiculous.

I've been entering myself (and my brother) in the lottery every day since it started on Friday. You can enter once a day. It is really expensive, but the release day sounds like an awesome experience, the BC Rare is a one-of-a-kind beer that should be incredible, and it would be a great excuse to go some visit some friends back in Chicago. If I get picked in the lottery, I am definitely going and buying my full allotment. Here is the link for the lottery if anyone wants to enter:
