What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (5 Viewers)

Ahhh....My first post in this thread. It's been far too long for this to be my first post but somehow it is.

Anywho, I really need a beer and haven't drank since like, last Saturday so I'm due. Gonna have a Miller Lite or two here and then head down to the Old Chicago and have a variety of brews from their World Beer Tour while I watch the Laker game. Should be a good night :goodposting:

Tried a bunch of 19-20 oz'ers tonight:

Hobgoblin Dark English Ale

Samuel Smith Nut Brown

Samuel Smith Organic Ale

Monty Python Holy Ail

ESB Original Ale

Old Leg Over

And a bunch of Sam Adams:

Cherry Wheat

Black Lager

Honey Porter

Boston Lager

Irish Red

Question on Grand Cru and Ommegang? Do these have a shelf life? Or, if stored properly, are they good no matter what? Assuming storing refrigerated with bottle on side as proper storage.

TIA

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I drink a lot of SNPA, especially since the convenience store in the neighborhood decided to start stocking it.

Had Shiner Bohemian Black Lager and Blue Moon in the cart, but couldn't buy before noon.

Going Crown instead for the game.

Leffe. Belgium beer.Chose some high quality beer for tonight. It has foil over the cap and everything!
Hmm, didn't like Leffe when I tried it a few years back ... seemed to give a strange aftertaste. Perhaps I'm mistaken?Circled me lips around some Warsteiner tonight

Surprised no one has helped you with this question yet. Unfortunately I don't check this thread as much as I used to (that might be a good thing  )Depends on which particular beers you are referring to. Ommegang makes a few different brands and Grand Cru is make by countless brewers. More info would help.As far as storage, on the side in a refrigerator is not ideal. A cellar at about 50 degrees with all bottles upright would be best.

I had a Lindenmans Cassis Lambic (black currant) last night and was extremely disappointed. It didn't taste like beer. It tasted like diet soda.

I picked that over a Gulden Draak at the last second and will now forever regret it.
Never met a Lambic I liked. Gulden Draak is seriously good stuff.
I'm finally having that Gulden Draak now. Much better.I think I like both Gulden Draak and Duvel more than I like any of the Chimays (white > blue > red, IMO). I still like Westmalle (dubbel > tripel) and Rochefort (10 > 8 > 6 -- never tried 12) the best of the Belgians. I'll have to drink some more of each, Westmalle dubbel and Rochefort 10, before proclaiming one to be the winner.

I've never seen Orval for sale anywhere. That's the one I really want to try (along with Westvleteren, but Orval seems a lot more realistic).

Had an Orval last night. And a Duvel. And several others at a bar last night. $2 each. :goodposting: Everything in 12oz or less bottles except for Framboise and Chimay were $2. I love that place. :kicksrock:
