What percentage of your take-home pay would you estimate you spend on beer? :lmao:

No chance I ever try to figure that out. Just did an inventory of beer in my little apartment. 209 bottles. :bag:

I keep an Excel spreadsheet on my desktop. I try to keep my cellar small here in my apartment. I have 80 bottles not currently in the fridge (20 or so in the fridge at the moment), roughly 60 of which are legitimate cellar beers and ~20 beers that will be rotated into the fridge soon. That's pretty small compared to a lot of folks...

Split a Dugna, Hop Henge, Hopslam, and a Black Phoenix with a friend. Then went to a friend's show. Had a Blind Pig, then went down the street and had 2 cask Green Flash Doouble Stouts ($3.50 each  ) and an Abyss on tap.

Just finished off a 4 pack of Surly Furious that I got via a trade. If I had regular access I'd put it right behind Flower Power as my 2nd favorite IPA.

think i might crack open a dogfishhead 120 min IPA from 2004. think that should taste pretty good now. found a few down in the basement :-)

Vanilla BCS:excited:
Thoughts????I was able to obtain 2 Vanilla's and a Rare, haven't opened any of hte bottles.
Exceptional, but I wouldn't expect any less. Tastes pretty much like a BCS beer but a little heavier on the vanilla. My "guys" told me to drink this thing ASAP, as it's my only bottle. The Rare never showed up in town, even though the distributor said he was getting some. :excited: after hearing what some people have paid for it, I don't think it can be worth THAT price. Of course, the store would've sold it for like $12.I got this one for $10.99.

I was thinking about aging my Vanilla in the hopes of seeing the taste improve. My second bottle will probably be for a trade with a friend on his way to Russian River in a few weeks.Any opinons on what beer to request from the San Fran area, anyone?Yes, I am not happy about the money I paid for the Rare, but this could potentially be a once in a lifetime beer. For me this would be a harder beer to obtain than a Westy 12.

I wish I could've gotten more to try to age it, but when the one guy (he's a brewer at GI) tells me "drink it ASAP if you've only got one"....I guess I'll listen. The Rare will be a once-in-a-lifetime beer, I'm sure. But I'm an anti-hyper....never been a "whale" trader. I don't know how much you paid, but I'd heard of people paying $70-100 for it. I'm sure it's a great beer, but is it better than, say, 36 Storm King's? I guess that has to depend on the person's personal preference.

Big fan of this one. Have a couple left for tomorrow. Also have some Spotted Cow and NG Coffee Stout from my Wisconsin stash.

Went to my store a few hours ago to get the Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine and Peruvian Morning , but to no avail, the store has not received their allotment. They still have the Brewhouse Coffee and the Bourbon Barrel Stout. Hopefully I will be getting a call this week when the above have come in. I am a big fan of Central Waters.

I was able to obtain the Rare at $50, yes I agree the Storm Kings would have been a better purchase.I may have to take your guidance on the Vanilla, or possibly bring it to Dark Lord Day and possibly share with others in line.

Starting with a Yeti which I obtained via trade. Maybe on to a Bells 9000 or central waters coffee stout.
How is the Batch 9000 these days?
I'll have to tell you later, I had the 9000 waiting in the wings but after the Yeti my eyes got heavy and it was time for bed. Maybe the 9000 tonight.
