What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Ok, back to the beer. Epic got even better as it warmed up. Stone website mentioned something about how good it will be in another 6 years. Don't know if I can wait that long. 6 months sounds more likely.

My first-ever Racer 5 is on the menu tonight. I am also now officially in possession of the last 3 Dreadnaughts that Sam's had. And they can't have them back.
Not to be redundant buttbuddy. :bye:
Like I told Furley I'm not that kind of boy.:exitonly:
Ok, "pitcher".
no matter pitching or catching, you're still playing the game.
WOW, three post's in a row that deserve a :lmao:
:goodposting:

I stored one for 6 days one time.

Obviously, you are correct. The real impendiment there isn't the actual beer -- it's the holder of the beer. Not patient enough, eh?

I bought some Thomas Hardy's Ale a few weeks back. The guy at the store talked about how people store Old Ales like it for up to 20 years. I told him the 4 I picked up wouldn't make it through the weekend.

How does Coor's Light taste after that long a period anyway?
Are you kidding me? Nothing but Bud Select in this house.

Here's the quote:"I think that this will probably peak a little after 12.12.12, but should be mighty tasty delicious round that time too."

I doubt I'll wait that long. Hell, I could be dead by then.

 My shopping trips to Sam's are getting ####### stupid lately. Binny's too. Can't wait until this weekend is over when I can work off some of the 200+ bottles in the basement. Big wedding reception that I am supplying a lot of this beer for over the weekend in MI. Hopefully I can manage to unload a large part of this. And keep enough extras for myself to make me happy for a long while. Although, my 5 Dreadnaughts and 20 GI Imps will go a long way toward that...

Where the heck can I get a couple of those? I would love to try one now and cellar that one for that long just to see what happened to the beer.

But if you hold onto for a long time you can get good money for it. $56 for a bottle of 1968 on Ebay. I'm not sure I'd want a 40 year old bottle of beer.

check Stone's website. They have a list of distributors you can check with in your area. For some reason Stone hasn't made a delivery to the Memphis distributor in a coupe of months. :sadbanana:

 If you can get other Stone brews you should see it soon. Just arrived here this week.

I didn't like them from day 1 (the reviews sounded a lot better than they tasted), I doubt I'd like 'em in 40 years. At $5 for an 8.5oz bottle though, I had to :banned: them.

In Illinois, I can not get a damn thing. Maybe I should stop in IN on my way to Mi this weekend..... No clue where. All the stops along the way are no larger than Granger, IN. And that ain't big.

Those ' Vertical' beers are designed to be stored for a long time....
These bottle-conditioned ales are specifically designed to be aged until sometime after December 12th, 2012.
The 02.02.02 (Feb 2, 2002) was the first one made.

Cavalier Distributing 317/358-1970call these guys. They're the Stone distributor for IN.

Tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to Real Ale Brewing's 10th Anniversary Party and new brewery opening. Should be awesome. Trying to get the wife to come along to drive me home....er......keep me company.

Not sure if I can make it. I do have a 2003 Old Stock though. Maybe I do have a little willpower.By the way, got it from Corks and Kegs on Patterson. Not a bad little store, but nowhere near what Westpark and Once Upon a Vine have.

Will they have the Celis beer?

I can't tell. Details are pretty sketchy.

Open house or guest list?

Hey Fuller,

I picked up sixers of Sam's Black Lager in a mainstream supermarket today.

Should be hitting your neck of the (back)woods by the turn of the decade

Open house, buddy. You ought to make the trip out.Party notice

I'm not sure how much free beer there will be. These kind of things are hit and miss. The ones at Independence Brewing that I've been to were pretty strict. At Live Oak, they'd keep giving you free beer tickets until you hit the floor.

Aside from Archer and Liquid Solutions, are there any other good "mail order" beer stores?

I never worried too much, because of Indiana's stone-age beer laws, but I do have friends in IL and OH who would be willing to "receive".

Liquid Solutions has a number of beers I can't get here or within driving distance.  I've tried or heard good things about these, any others to look for?

- Alaskan

- Ale Smith

- Deschutes

- Lagunitas

- Mad River

- Marin

- Moylan's
John's Grocery is worth checking out. I made my first online order with them Monday and received it today! Prices were cheaper than Liquid Solutions and the freight was a lot cheaper also (I live in TN and John's is in Iowa so it's a lot closer to me than Liquid Solutions).

Here's what I got --> :pics: :pics: :pics:
those St Bernardus are outstanding.beware the Eku 28. iirc it has chunks of fruit, or something, floating in it.
just poured the EKU. No chunks. Actually just a very clear red-brown copper color.
:hot: now i feel cheated.

I used to buy the winter one just for the Old Fezzwig. I'm not sure if it's because I really liked it that much or just because we couldn't get it here.
