Finally finished that GI Bourbon County. Wow, that was a thick beer to chew on. Strong as hell too. Still have the chocolate and slight toffee flavors in my mouth. Almost tastes like that super duper chocolate ice cream you'd get as a kid.

Is there coffee flavor here? I want to try this beer, but the coffee flavor always turns me away. Certainly for the price of this brew.

There was a slight hint in it for me. But not huge by any means. Make ya a deal.....you send me something and I'll send you one bottle of GI Bourbon County just so you can try one single bottle. Unless you can buy it as a single, in which case then only get one to try it. We can work on your end soon, maybe a HopSlam.

I am down with that... Is hopslam what you want? It is yummy!

Since it is a slow night, and mid week on a holiday week, let me ask a few questions to see what the norm is here.1) When storing your beer for some time (cellar/wherever) do you store standing, on side, tilted? And why?2) Do you always drink certain styles of beer out of certain types of glasses (snifter, pint, etc.)?I am sure there are more, but we'll start there.

I almost always drink a beer out of the glass its supposed to be drank out of. I've got a large enough glass collection which allows me to do so.The only time I stray from this is when I use a snifter instead of a recommended glass. I use snifters for stouts, barleywines and old ales with out exception.

Wow. That almost made my head spin ----- you wrote your reply in my quote. I'm normally just stupid, but now I'm imparied and stupid. I feel like Furley. It's not a rush, so take your time. But if you want to try it, we can see if FedEx can deliver to you from here basically overnight. I know I;ve dropped off for Furley before and it got there next day. I'll try to box it up tonight, and drop off before 6pm tomorrow then. Can't promise though.

Got distracted... I was just about to post this.As for the brews, no rush on your part. I am off tomorrow so nothing better to do here. When you get to it is cool. I need to learn how to box beer anyway for BIF III. Any advise?

I buy the heavy duty freezer bags and put one beer in each bag. Then I wrap a double layer of bubble wrap on them and tape up the end of the wrap with a couple strips of clear tape. Cushion on the bottom of your choice. Newspaper on the sides and all around the bottles. And make sure to use a box big enough to fit all this comfortably. Otherwise, I always avoid using peanuts if possible, and ALWAYS now avoid using those air filled small plastic bag that some shippers use. I sent some beers to Skylord with those damn things in them, and one bottles got sacrificed. It was a dark day that day. :(

Following up the Mirror Pond with my first-ever GI Bourbon County. Dear Gawd, this beer has a lot going on. Starts out with vanilla and chocolate, then a hint of smoke and bourbon. All the while, it's thick as chocolate soup. And about as clear as that. The alcohol bite at the end doesn't so much creep up on you as it rumbles over you like a small-scale earthquake. Just enough to rattle things around, then it goes away just as fast. Did I mention this beer is kinda thick? 'Cause it is.

So, pretty good?Thinking about ordering some from Binny's.

His month was august. He posted several times about what he was sending. Near the end of August he posted something like "it's all packed up and ready to go." Kind of got quiet. A few more posts. then he started using his "in season" alias to post in the Shark Pool. PM's to both accounts went unanswered. No beers. No winston. As I said before, hopefully nothing bad happened to him. It's only a couple of beers. I'm not losing sleep over it.

I had to google to find out how bad that is. Looks like some immediate changes will have to be made. Did they give you medication or is exercise/diet the first step? Oh, and good luck. Hopefully it could be managed so you can still . And quit working so much.

I go to the doctor tomorrow. Well, later today. I went in to have oral surgery and they took my BP and sent me away. I'm really not too worried about, but that's the way I am. I'll probably go in to the doctor and it'll be lower..like 175/108. I'm not doing drugs, well not prescribed one's. I'd prefer to give cardio/losing a few pounds a try first. I think given a month or 2 I can bring it down pretty well.

Not yet. That was an online order. But, there's 2 more Bells in town. The cherry stout (meh) and Third Coast. Not sure if it's the old ale, but I'm guessing it's not that but the pale. Total of 5 now. More on the way. We missed out on the Hopslam, but I fully expect we'll get in on Expedition.
