What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

Back to the beer talk! Bell's Two Hearted. :banned:
Atta boy, drink the good stuff your last few days on Earth...Seriously though, good luck with the new excersise etc. GB being just under 30 and being able to treat my body like hell still. I don't look forward to being an old guy like you :D
I always said I'd never live past 50. ;)
I always said Id never see 40, but now that its approaching (in a few years), Ive changed my tune. Now I say I wont live past 100

Locally bought? :crossesfingers: Still haven't seen any Bell's around here yet, but they have gotten label approval for some of their beers. No Two Hearted or Expedition though.
If they screw ya, let me know. I know where I can find some :banned:
Send me some Hopslam...you know....since I'm about to die and all. :D
lol, always willing to trade. I (as well as TT) have pimped this beer enough, it deserves to be tasted nationwide. Always willing to send some in exchange.
Name me something here on the east coast worth trading. There's some very good selections from Weyerbacher and Victory. Even better would be Southampton depending on what I can get my hands on. Double White was/is very good and still around, but wit's are more of a summer style.

Nah. She knows I have a large insurance policy. :pickle:

Following up the Mirror Pond with my first-ever GI Bourbon County. Dear Gawd, this beer has a lot going on. Starts out with vanilla and chocolate, then a hint of smoke and bourbon. All the while, it's thick as chocolate soup. And about as clear as that. The alcohol bite at the end doesn't so much creep up on you as it rumbles over you like a small-scale earthquake. Just enough to rattle things around, then it goes away just as fast. Did I mention this beer is kinda thick? 'Cause it is.
So, pretty good?Thinking about ordering some from Binny's. :banned:
That beer changes qualities so much as it warms to room temp too. I promise that even after you're done with it, you will taste the double chocolate ice cream for at least 30 minutes. Should I put you on my charity list for sending a bottle on it?
That would be great. I mean I could get some from Binny's, but I might not live long enough to drink all 4. What can I send you since my super secret plan failed on the St. Bernardus 60th? :(
I don't know. We can talk about it.

working with my favorite liquor store to get it in.

his Distributor won't buy beers that he feels aren't going to sell well in Green Bay. :hot: he specifically mentioned that he didn't think the one-time and special releases would sell well enough to warrant picking up.

:wall:

i've been hammering the liquor store guy with regularity to get beers like GI Bourbon Co. Stout, IIPA and Bell's Expedition.. just a case or two.. because i know that between me and 2 other guys we will buy it all the day it arrives.

why the distributor won't deliver 2 cases of these beers when he's GUARANTEED to sell them immediately.. i have no idea.

####ing moron if you ask me.

i know i know :ptts:

The distributor or retailer might have a minimum order that he has to place with the brewer or whoever is higher up the distribution channel. And two cases probably isn't enough to make the cut in terms of carrying it. Also, you have to consider the margin on those cases, assuming that they may even have the ability to get the order placed. I would guess the margin to the distributor is a lot less for the seasonals and limited runs than for the regular stuff. Not sure what GI and other brewers charge their distributors, but I suspect that the better brewers can command premium prices even at that level in the chain. So the incentive to carry those nominal number of cases is not there based on the probability of greater margins that can be had on the usual stuff or even "semi-usual" stuff. But now that Goose Island is officially part of AB, maybe they can work their way to greater distribution over time. I would think that the Midwest region might start to see more of the harder-to-find bottles. Maybe not this time around, but in the future. So there may be hope after all. Don't run the warm bath and sink into the water to slit your wrists quite yet, buddy. Unless of course you're doing it because you ACTUALLY LIVE IN GREEN BAY. Then I can't help you.

Latest news from Dominion:

Handcrafted Oak Barrel Millennium Now Available Our 2006 Oak Barrel Millennium is now available at the Brewpub. This limited edition seasonal specialty is truly something unique. We only packaged 350 cases of this beer, which is our 2006 Millennium Barleywine that was dry-hopped for 6 months, then conditioned in oak bourbon barrels for an additional 3 months. In our humble opinion, this is the best batch that we've done to date. The Brewpub will be closed on Thanksgiving, so be sure to fill your growlers and pick up your carry-out beer by Wednesday. Happy Thanksgiving !
Gee, and I'm going to be about 15 minutes away from the brewpub on Monday evening... :pickle:

Much to my wife's dismay, apparently rumours of my impending death were greatly exaggerated. EKG normal. Xray normal. Waiting on lab work. BP still high, but not as much as yesterday. I only weigh 4 pounds more than when I was last there in 2000, so I'm not a total porker yet.

I think this calls for a :banned:

Beers on me boys.

I might have to get some of that. Just picked up a 6er of their Winter. If you're lucky, they'll have the real Oak Barrel Stout on tap. That stuff is so ####### good. It might be worth the 2.5 hour drive for me to pick some up.

The first of many Surly Furious pints. I poured what was left of my keg into three growlers I had laying around and the carbonation won't stay good for long. We will see how much I can get through.

:cry:what you say makes sense but that doesn't mean i have to listen.
If you're that ####### desperate, then order it online from Archer Liquors. :duh:
if it weren't for Christmas and 2 birthdays next month i might just buy some from Archer.
what are you... poor?
dropping $580 on car repair today. :(so, yes, i am poor.
Ouch...that sucks. :sadbanana:

Well, guess it doesn't call for a :banned: Taking heart medication, a diuretic. What should I avoid while taking Dyazide? • Avoid drinking alcohol, which can increase some of the side effects of Dyazide. :wall: Having a Sanctification. :banned: NG, you want that in trade?

Hmmmm, lemme think about it....yes. So, does this mean permanently? Because if so, then that'll suck. And what exactly are the side-affects of this drug anyway?Impotence? Well, that's a choice you personally have to make. I'd say  anyway. Blindness? Maybe you can keep drinking until right before you go legally blind then get that laser surgery.Shingles? I dunno, never had them. Heard they are painful, but at least the beer can help numb the pain.Muscle spasms? Beer helps you relax, so you 'd be helping yourself by drinking.Sleeplessness? Have a beer to help wile away the hours.Sluggishness? Well, drinking isn't about bat speed. That's hitting a fastball that they're thinking of with that.Ulcers? Ulcers are caused by bacteria in the stomach lining. Alcohol kills bacteria. Beer has alcohol. You connect the dots.Itchy and painful rashes? Nothing you can do other than grab the Calamine Lotion. Seems like a good excuse for a beer regardless.Irritable Bowel Syndrome? You're gonna need plenty of liquids. Lucky for you.....beer IS a liquid. So as you can see, there really is no legitimate side affect that can't be improved or alleviated by beer. Even if the cause of that side affect is the beer. But we won't quibble over the details.Remember --- Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

I am very sorry to hear about your mental affliction. I'll pray for you. But not whenever I eat a candy bar. That would be silly.

Actually, ask TT if he wants them first. I still have 10 bottles downstairs. Not sure how many he has, and I know he liked them too. If he has enough, then I will gladly take them. I loved that beer.

I have 4 Beatification too. But I'll have to be careful to consider when to drink those. And thanks to a certain West Coast trading partner, I have a Temptation down there too. Plus Gator is into me for some RRBC, just not sure which ones he'll get (hint: Supplication and Depuration are the first choices). And I have an order of Damnation (4) and Salvation (6) too. I am planning a weeklong RRBC Booze Crooz some time in 2007. Probably Feb or March.

I could help you with those if need be. That or you could just include them in the return package to me from the Lou Pepe.

There's your answer, TT NEEDS more Sanctification. True story.
hmm, so this might be a chance to finally get something from Town Hall?

Wow, that's asking a lot. Those are four bottles of something you just don't find down at the local Piggly Wiggly. I'd like to keep those to age them if I can.

Just trying to help you clear some space in your cellar. ;)

Officer level thinking there.... If you're gonna go out in a drunken fit from the heart meds, then you might as well go out with great beer. Town Hall seems to be as good a choice as any out there. And better than all but a select few.

Those are in with the wine. As are the Temptation, Sanctification and all the other RRBC. Those are all special. In a good way. Not in a Furley way.

That's what I'm thinking. Not sure what it's gonna take to get some Town Hall though. I might have to up the ante.

Don't kid yourself. Two bottles of Sanctification and a few stow-aways in the shipment are plenty to get a sampler of Town Hall. Don't let TT rip you off.
