Porter isn't bad. Their coffee porter is exceptional though. Comes in a tiny little bottle, worth every cent.Meantime - IPANever had this one before. Tasty. Got one of their porters as well.

Keep AngryWife away from the whiskey. Bad mix I reckon.Jimmy Beam on the rocks, because I'm out of beer and it's the last whiskey in the house. AngryWife and I are going booze shopping this weekend.
$12! where in the hell are you buying it? i'm pretty sure it's $6.99 up here.Capital dobblebock. $12 a 6 pack. But very strong and tasty,
haven't had a bad beer from them yetI had an AleSmith Grand Cru last night, and . . . I think I found my new favorite beer.![]()
That was the first AleSmith offering I've tried. I'm looking forward to sampling their other beers as well. But the Grand Cru was excellent.

Thought there was more coffee in there than chocolate. Someone get Gunz a ST chokolatjust cracked open a porter from Snoqualmie, courtesy of proninja. It's like drinking chocolate syrup.![]()

Stick with the 750ml bottles...these are the best beers they produce (for the most part). The Wee Heavy is really nice, probably the best of breed in the Wee Heavy category. Next, you need to try the Speedway Stout...but don't expect to do much afterwards. Its a whopping 13%Decadence, Old Numbskull and Horny Devil are also very nice.Back to the 22ozs...the Alesmith IPA is subperb. Its a perfectly balanced IPA. The ESB and X are fairly common beers, nothing special. Oh, and the Yulesmith is spectacular.Just had an AleSmith Anvil ESB. Pretty disappointing. It wasn't bad, but compared to the awesomeness that was their Grand Cru, the Anvil was pretty ordinary. Not so different from, say, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or something. Good, but not nearly the most awesome thing in the universe.I may try the Wee Heavy tomorrow.
great local brewYeungling

I had the Wee Heavy last night. Others in this thread described the Wee Heavy as "big" (or "huge"). I had no idea what that meant . . . until I tasted it. It is huge. That adjective makes a lot more sense after trying it. It actually fits very well. Not my favorite, but it is different from any other beer I've ever tried. Very bold and in-your-face.I just put a Speedway Stout in the refrigerator a few minutes ago. I'll drink that in a few hours. I like stouts and porters in general, so I've got my hopes up for this one. Otherwise, I'll try the Horny Devil later this week. I don't know what the difference is between that and the Grand Cru, but I loved the Grand Cru. If the Horny Devil doesn't measure up, I'll just go back to the Grand Cru and stick with that from now on. That wouldn't be such a bad thing.Stick with the 750ml bottles...these are the best beers they produce (for the most part). If you like stouts, then I can **guarantee** that you are going to be totally blown away by the Speedway. Make sure you drink it cellar temp, don't drink it too cold. Alesmith Grand Cru is quite unique, there isn't another beer that really tastes like it. But there are some Belgian beers that are worth trying. The Horny Devil is lighter in style with a spicier flavor. You'll probably like it as long as you don't compare it to the Grand CruI had the Wee Heavy last night. I know they are different styles (and different yeasts), but the AleSmith Grand Cru really reminded me of Thomas Hardy's Ale. There is something very similar about them, at least to me.Alesmith Grand Cru is quite unique, there isn't another beer that really tastes like it.
