In my huge $$$ league ($5k payout for first place) playoff game, I'm in a dogfight. With this scoring system :

NO PPR, 1 pt per 50 yds passing, 1 pt per 20 yards rushing (1 pt bonus at 80 yds), 1 pt per 15 yards receiving (1 pt bonus at 75 yds), all TDs 6 pts.

Would you rather have :

1) Beanie Wells tonight and a 20 point lead

2) Kurt Warner, Anquan Boldin, Michael Crabtree and a 20 pt deficit.

Unfortunately, I'd give the edge to your opponent. The Niners haven't been giving up points to RBs, so I wouldn't expect a whole lot from Beany. 3 TDs between Warner, Boldin, and Crabtree sounds like a minimum, and, while yardage is pretty minimized, there will still be enough to put him over the top

GL to you regardless.

Contrary to your instinct, your $5k league is no more interesting than some dude's Yahoo! lineup.
I didn't post it to fascinate you, just curious what people thought because I felt like I had an edge and my opponent is telling me I'm sunk.Besides, I'm a very important person around here. Go get your shinebox.

I haven't mentioned which team is me.
Was just going to post this. The way it reads it looks like you have Beanie but you never do say.Appears it's a landslide that "Team B" has the edge, but it will be very, VERY close
I'm thinking it's going to be very close too. I didn't mention which team was mine because I didn't want it to influence anyone from being entirely objective.. I will when I get back from lunch.

Who?

Beanie Wells and a 20 pt cushion [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]

Warner, Boldin, Crabtree and a 20 pt deficit [ 24 ] ** [100.00%]

I think it totally depends on how the game plays out. If it were PPR, I would say Team A is sunk, but if this is a close game (in the 17-10 genre), Team A absolutely has a shot. Personally, I think Boldin is the wildcard here. I would expect AZ to win and if Beanie gets some and Warner gets some without it benefitting Boldin, Team A may be able to hold out with the point differential regardless of Crabtree. Should be interesting watching for you regardless.

I am Team 2. Thanks all. Guy who is team 1 has been e-mailing me all day saying I have no chance, which I know is shtick, but I actually felt like I might be in a slightly better spot here.

I agree that this is what it comes down to. If Boldin scores and Beanie doesn't, I probably win. The other way around and I'm likely sunk unless Warner chucks about 4 TDs to Fitz/Breaston/Hightower, etc. Unless Crabtree goes off, but I don't see it.Hightower's still getting the GL carries, right?

This would have never happened if you started Romo instead of Big Ben
:thumbup:Those were actually the two QBs I had 2 seasons ago. Traded Romo for Marvin Harrison. Even though Ben had a 32 TD year, it still turned out to be a bad trade because of Harrison's injury. This year its Warner, Garrard, and Leinart.

I'm actually shocked that it's 55:1 for Team 2. I voted Team 2, but my goodness, I think it may be very close. People must think Beanie has NO SHOT at scoring or racking up 100+ yards.

Well considering he hasn't racked up 100+ yards up yet, I can see their point.

Are these teams facing each other? The 20 points on each side kind of suggests that they are. So does "dogfight".Cuz, if facing each other, Team 2's deficit is (20 pt + Beanie "Chris" Wells). No penalties for INTs?

-1 for INTs or fumbles lost. And yes, the 20 point deficit is what I am facing currently.. it's actually 60-43, but he gets 3 pts home field advantage, so it's 63-43 right now.

Actually, it's much more interesting than my free Yahoo lineup where I forgot my team was in the playoffs. Good luck EG!

I was one of the few that voted to take Beanie and the cushion here. In a league where yardage counts so little, 20 points is a lot to make up. All Beanie needs is one cheap TD to pretty much put this away, and with Hightower dinged I could easily see that happening.

It is pretty much a crap shoot but QB TDs are worth 6. I expect Warner to have at least 3 TDs which all but eliminates the lead. Then it becomes Beany versus Boldin and Crabtree (on a suddenly pass-happy team). I'd bet the Warner combo pulls this one out.I'm in a TD heavy league and they are a PITA. Luck plays a major role versus allowing the 120 yd day be worth much.Good luck with your game.

I would say that you have a better shot at winning than the 6 Time Superbowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers have at making it into the playoffs this year.GL

Yeah, and I think that's how most people are looking at it. But I think "expecting" 3 TDs out of Warner is a bit much. He's thrown 3+ TDs in two out of eleven games this year, and did it in four out of sixteen last year, so he basically does it 22% of the time. 22% isn't necessarily something I'd bank on, especially not to the point that the poll result is coming back with 95% saying the Warner side is going to take it.

For what it's worth, I went back and looked at every week since Crabtree started playing and compared how this matchup would have worked out.

Week 7: Beanie + 20 wins

Week 8: Beanie + 20 wins

Week 9: Warner + Boldin + Crabtree Wins

Week 10: Beanie + 20 wins

Week 11: Warner + Boldin + Crabtree Wins

Week 12: Beanie + 20 wins (Warner injured, but it was a pretty large deficit anyway)

Week 13: Warner + Boldin + Crabtree Wins

I went with the second (most popular) option, but it seems like a coin flip to me.

My guess: Wells gets 14 points and your trio gets 36 points

Good Luck!
