What Offenses are on the Up and Up? (1 Viewer)

What Offenses do you see taking a step forward next year? Maybe they have an offensive line that's decent, a few good skill players, and a team settling into a new system?

MIA: great line, good young QB, good system in place...might grab a young RB in the draft and get a playmaker WR in freeagency.

CLE: Cribbs, Harrison maybe? Massoquoi, Joe Thomas, Brady maybe?...I don't like Mangenius, but maybe with Holmgren coming to town, they get some stability.

OAK: Man, if they got a McNabb, or even Sage Rosenfels...they could be decent, considering the good teams they've upset recently with sqaut at QB. Their DEF is decent, and could keep them in games. It's a shame they might have won too many games to get Suh and shore up the Run D. On offense, alot of young players who might be good.

Who else?

If Kubiak gets S#$%canned, I think that Houston could be off the charts. Shaub, Slaton, Foster, AJ, Walter, Daniels. Factor in a young and aggressive defense and this offense could be just sick.

Look at the Coaching, QB, OL, RB/WR/TE in that order...

Here are some examples I see for upside next season.

Atlanta: Matty ice and the Falcons could bounce back in a big way next year and do what they were supposed to do this year. OL seems better than average. Plenty of weapons at WR/RB/TE. Mike Smith is unproven but seems okay so far.

Baltimore: Love this team and they will be cheap other than Rice in most drafts/auctions. I have a good feeling about Harbaugh as a coach but like he too, is still learning to be a HC. Look out for Flacco if he can find a stud WR or TE.

KC: Todd Haley seems to have turned a corner as a HC after some early season struggles. I like what Cassel brings to the table with his mobility and NE pedigree. Jamal Chuck is a poor man's Chris Johnson. DBowe has huge talent but is a dumb###. Rest of the offense lacks weapons.

There will be situations that rise every year. The key is looking at the big picture with each squad. Top-down thinking clarifies a lot in fantasy football.

San Fran: just find Bloom's recent post on this board and see if it doesn't make a believer out of you

Atlanta: getting Turner back healthy and another year with Ryan and his receivers will be huge.

Not sold on Baltimore and KC quite yet.

JAX: They drafted 2 OL this year and were learning on the job. MSW emerged as a playmaker and I think Holt is gone after this yr, so they will look to upgrade the other WR. Plus, they have to address the defense (pass rush and DBs) which could give more time for the offense.

If Denver can sign both Orton and Marshall (keeping Scheffler and Chris Kuper would help as well), Denver could make big strides next season. Every week they seem right on the verge of breaking out, but can't quite put it all together. If they can open things up a bit more down the field and become more efficient in the red zone, watch out.

The Rams are on the up and up. This year they are averaging 11 points per game and with a good draft, they expect to up that to 13 points next year.

I like the Jags as well, hopefully they won't go and try to replace Garrard. I feel he's good enough and he really only has 1 legit target at the moment. If they can add a WR and those 2 rookie tackles develop, then Jacksonville could have a top-10 offense in my opinion.

I think following the offensive line is probably the best bet here.

I'd look O-Line, QB, RB, WR, and at least a second WR with skills or TE.

Tennessee: If you've noticed lately, the Titans are scoring a lot more points with an improved Vince Young who has an aggressive, down field nature as a passer. The offensive line is one of the best in the NFL both on the ground and through the air. Chris Johnson is an elite runner. With Kenny Britt showing promise and a young Jared Cook hopefully about to take the next step, all they need in theory is another good receiver to make Nate Washington and Justin Gage No.3 - No.4 guys (which is more their calling) and this offense could become a juggernaut. I'm convinced Young will become more like McNabb as a passer and has turned the corner from immature athlete to maturing QB.

Green Bay: I know they are already good, but they are about to get a whole lot better. Aaron Rodgers is about to become an elite QB and I believe James Jones or Jordy Nelson would be starting in Tennessee. Driver has at least another year in him and Jennings is only going to improve. Finley looks like a young Gates/Gonzalez. The offensive line is pretty good when healthy and should get stronger. The weak link is the ground game, which shouldn't be hard to find a young stud or change of pace stud at RB. I think this offense will be the NFC's version of the Colts for the long haul.

Cincinnati: They can run on just about anyone. Chad Ochocinco is kind of a Donald Driver-plus in ability. They just need one more 1A option at either WR or TE. The line still needs some work, but they aren't that far away.

I can see KC, Denver, and Miami in the mix, but I wonder if Chambers will be a long-term option in KC and I still have questions about Cassel and the o-line. Denver has impressed, but more on the ground than through the air. Miami? Does Ronnie stay and where do they find a game-breaking primary option. If they get Anquan Boldin or someone of that ilk, then I'm all aboard with the possibilities.

The Jags drafted 3 WRs last year in the draft, so I doubt they'll be looking that way again. Mike Thomas has looked promising so far and could step in to replace Holt. Jarret Dillard was drafted not long after Thomas. He broke his ankle back in week 10 and has been on IR since then. The 3rd WR they drafted is Tiquan Underwood. I expect Thomas to step up next year, but really any of them could. There has been a lot of discussion about the Jaguars drafting Tebow. This move would be as much about attendance as it would be to help the roster. I think the Jags are pretty close to becoming a solid and consistent offense around MJD.

An love for the Giants? :homer: + :goodposting:

Eli is improving and a lot of young WRs on the team who look very good. This is for all intents and purposes Manningham's rookie year due to injury last year and Nicks missed most of camp this year. OL has some question marks but rookie OT Beatty has looked good in his limited playing time.

:hophead: Eli is way better off with this crew than having Burress. I won't be looking for a QB for a long time if he keeps it up.

Tampa is getting Sears back next season, and he was good when playing. The O-line was expected to be one of the best in the league with him on it.
