I mainly do auctions but this works for snake as well:
In consideration of value, I find these positions critical in doing well in your draft consistently.
1a. RB
1b. TE
3. QB
10. WR
RB: its a giant riskpool after the top3ish. I'm really only comfortable getting rice/foster. Everything else is risky. And to be consistent, you must minimize risk early on. Obviously, you can strike gold in 2nd-3rd rounds or even mid/late rounds, but we're talking about consistent winning, not just mediocrity most of the time. Hence, getting a SOLID STUD RB is critical for drafting. you will be tiers above everyone else who's scrambling/wondering who to start with their RBBC RB's.
TE: The top 2 are SO MUCH BETTER than #3-#12. It's basically comparing Foster/Rice to RB#24--not close. The caveat here is the TE's only cost 32$! You get top value in terms of point differential (even if you compare TE1/2 to TE3) that it's jsut the smart move to spend the little bit of money to grab that huge advantage.
QB: Top QB's are super good, but they come at a premium. QBs are generally consistent and pretty good in later rounds so who cares, esp if you are LOCKED IN at RB/TE with a good QB while others are avg'ing 10pts+ less than you at those position, while your worry is whether or not someone like Ryan will suck for you (which isnt going to happen). Little worry here.
WR: too deep, yada yada yada. Unless your name is Calvin johnson, you are all the same imo in terms of value. The separation is just way too little. Draft a few WR2/WR3 and you wont be far behind other teams unless they have megatron. Also, you got a lot of room for flyers using this method, since you can get decent trash WR's, or just toss them for the next hot FA, which happens every year.
K/DST: who cares
Post your thoughts. I believe this is the way to go in this year's draft. It's still top RB's that are the king to FFB, just like in the past, but now because of different reasons.
