What QB to WR combo do you wish that you could have seen and never did (1 Viewer)

Is there a "fantasy" combo you wish you could have seen?

For me its Favre to Rice. Even at the end of Jerrys career I would have loved to see the 2 veterans working together. Rice was always in the right spot and caught everything that came his way. Favre can squeeze the ball into the tightest spots and has made great players out of nobodys his entire career.

For me there is no 2 guys I would have loved to see play together than a Late in his career Jerry Rice and Brett Favre.

At one time Chris Carter was willing to come to GB to play with Favre. I hated him with a passion, but I am curious how that would have turned out. I dont think Carter had much left in the tank either.

I dont know if this topic is going to work or not - but I am interested in hearing others.

Not a QB/WR combo, but I would have loved to have seen Dan Marino play on the '95 Steelers team.

Great topic first of all.

Here is a couple I would have liked to see.

Joe Montanna and Steve Largent.

Joe Namath and T.O.

Dan Marino and James Lofton.

for me, it would be the greatest pure passer of all time, dan marino, and the greatest deep threat of all time, randy moss.
:lmao: I totally agree Dan Marino is the best qb ever period!!
i spent years arguing that marino is the greatest QB ever (and i'm still exhausted from it). i still think he is, but now, to prevent another exhausting debate, i just refer to him as the greatest pure passer of all time.

I often wish Troy Aikman could have played a season in SF and had to air it out. I always felt like he had the arm and accuracy to just light it up if he ever had to.

He's the grown up version of Carson Palmer.

I'd also like to see Dan Marino on the Ravens team that won the SB. He always thru the ball everywhere but I'd like to actually see him on a team that required you to have patience and a defense that dominated the offense as far as what was talked about for that team.

Lynn Dickey to James Lofton

Wait....I did get to see the greatest connection ever!!!!

I would have liked to see the Cowboys pony-up and get Moss (was it a 4th or 6th rounder).

Moss deep and TO runnin slants with Romos escapability....one can dream.

I agree about Marino. People say that Marino never won the SB so they knock him down below other weaker QB's that did. Give Marino a combo with some defense and maybe even a RB and watch how many SB's he would have won. Therefore, I say combine Marino with any of the SB championship defenses... as for a receiver, it is too easy to choose a Jerry Rice, so I would have liked to see Marino with a tall and talented receiver such as a Colston or Plaxico Burress type. Marino could hit a window that is high for a receiver like that.

I know this is QB/WR but seriously.......... Barry Sanders with Emmit Smith's Perennial Pro-Bowl O Line............. Would have been football our eyes had never seen.

How about Joe Montana to Jerry Rice.. that would be insane .. the best QB I ever saw throwing to the best WR of all time. Oh wait...

ANYone to Don Hutson. 2nd Best WR EVER and it aint close in my book.

Unitas to Berry. They built the mold for the NFL to follow. Montana to Rice. Manning to Marv. It all started with Unitas to Berry.

I think Ryan Leaf to Marvin Harrison and Marshall Faulk and Peyton Manning to Charlie Jones and Bryan Still would have been interesting.

I've thought of this for years and glad you mentioned it! Sanders was....well, Sanders. Best I have ever seen hands down. If the above mentioned had happened, the single season rushing record would be an unattainable goal.
