In a standard or PPR league (whichever you think he's more valuable in), what's the earliest round you'd take Deuce McAllister in?

I suddenly can't get Mrs. Robinson out of my head . . .

Where have you gone, Deuce McAllister?

A nation turns its lonely eyes to you (Woo, woo, woo)

What's that you say, Mrs. Robinson

Doltin' Deuce has left and gone away

(Hey, hey, hey...hey, hey, hey)

ASSUMING that Bush makes it into camp in time to learn the offense and ASSUMING that Deuce bounces back from knee surgery...I say 3rd round. Deuce will get about half the snaps and all the goal-line carries. I'd say he'll get more than double the TD's of Bush and maybe 100-200 less yards.

I don't think Bush hurts Deuce all that much. Call me crazy.

I think he might actually help him. Putting Bush in the slot, where he will be a lot from what I'm hearing, will take the defensive focus off of Deuce. And I can't imagine Bush stealing the GL carries.

i took him with my first round pick this past year so i will be a little more hesitant to take hime this year.

it will depend on how he looks coming off the injury and whether Reggie Bush looks like a lost puppy, or looks like Edgerin James in his rookie year.

Best case scenario: 4th round.

Worst case: not at all.

Wow, you guys are a lot more keen on Deuce than I am. Most RB are sluggish the year after suffering a torn ACL. So I would not have been a big fan based on that alone.

Then they added Bennett who if healthy would have stolen touches. Then they drafted Bush who already is getting fitted for his bust in Canton (according to many). I don't see how those guys don't take a huge bite out of Deuce's workload.

Add into that that Deuce racked up his fantasy production in the past because the Saints had no one else to spell him (or split time with) and I'm concernd about how well Deuce will produce this year. Back in the day (2003), Deuce had 90% of the RB workload which for those that are not aware is an extremely large percentage.

He's obviously been out of the lineup quite a bit since that time and he's also never been one to score a crazy amount of TD. Factoring all that together, I have a hard time thinking McAllister will rank in the Top 25 RB this season (and easily could be worse than that).

Thanks for getting it stuck in my head :D

Funny.

This was my question for the day after watching some of the early SSL action....

Before the NFL draft in a Pre draft Survivor league he went early 2nd (16 Teams RB15) .. Now, he's free falling...... FREE.... FREE FALLIN'. (57 picks in so far)

Let's look at the constellation of things that have to happen for Deuce to be top-15

1) Bush gets injured or is a total bust (and even then, will steal touches)

2) New Orleans runs about as much as the Steelers, and Deuce manages 300+ touches

3) The Saints score a ton of points, and Deuce is the goalin back, so even though he loses touches, he scores 18 TDs.

I don't know - 4th round at best, imo, especially coming back from the injury.

5 or 6. That's the earliest I'll think of taking anyone with some major question marks. Luckily for me, last year, it was LJ.

Pretty much how I broke it down too. Also voted 4th round.

4th rd for me. I have most of the concerns already mentioned plus I think Bush is going to get more touches as the season progresses. The touches that Deuce gets during FF playoff weeks may be limited.
