What Should I trade for a RB1 (1 Viewer)

I am trying to win this year, last year I got 3rd and it was only because my studs all got hurt in the playoffs. The only hole in my team I can see is at RB, so I am looking for suggestions on who to trade for either a stud rb, or moving up in the rookie draft to get a top 3 rb.

4th year Dynasty team, 1pt PPR rest standard scoring.  Start 1qb, 1rb, 1wr, 2 flex, 1 te, 1 k, 1d.  First and second places pay.  Deep roster, think its 20 players.

I have picks 1.10 2.10 and 3.10 as well as 1st 2nd and 3rd rounder next year.
QB- Aaron ROdgers, Marriota
RB - Demarco Murray, Doug Martin, Kenneth Farrow, Paul Perkins, Charcanderick West
WR - Aj Green, Deandre Hopkins, Eric Decker, Donte MOncreif, Brandon Lafell, JOrdan Matthews, Devante Parker
TE - Greg Olson, Eric Ebron, Austin Hooper
k - Tucker
D - Ravens, Vikings

Looks like you are set at 1RB (Murray), 1WR (Green), TE (Olsen), 1 Flex (Hopkins).  That leaves your #2 flex as a starting spot that could use an upgrade.  I would say that RB and WR are equally weak.  I don't trust Decker to be anywhere close to past after multiple major surgeries and no QB however you should have a serviceable  player between Moncrief or Parker.  You could be fine at RB if Perkins pans out or Martin comes back from his suspension.

I don't think you have the resources to get a RB1 via trade.  I think you are going to have to go after a serviceable guy that you can plug in with some upside.  Someone like last years Ajayi.  A guy that seems on the outs but if he gets a shot he could run with it.  I might look to take a chance on a guy like Lacy or Lynch depending on what the current owners might think of them.

RB2 seems like a hole but you can start 1 so that isn't a big deal.  My approach at this point in the year would be not to try to fill a hole but either draft BPA with your picks or possibly trade 2017 picks for 2018 picks if you don't see anything you like.  This should then give you ammunition to make that same type of trade nearer your league trade deadline if you are looking to be in contention for a title but still need that 1 RB.  I saw this because what if by week 3 Aaron Rodgers and AJ Green are lost for the year and your title hopes fade?  What if that RB1 you trade for today blows out his knee in preseason?  I think it's better to fill that need at say week 8 or 9 if your team is looking strong.  I'll add that a team out of contention may also be willing to sell cheap because they are rebuilding.  That is why I say I would wait on pulling off the big trade.

I would still look to make a few types of moves.  Seek out those older solid veterans that can be had cheap for a later pick.  Are guys like Brady, Brees, Gore, B. Marshall available for a late pick because a team is in the build for the future mode and wants a 2.10 pick?  Trade away guys you feel may be ready to take a value hit.  It seems a lot feel that Davante Parker is nearing a big fall in value if he doesn't step up.  If you aren't a believer, then maybe now if the time to trade him? Maybe you think Paul Perkins should be traded today because the Giants may add someone that kills his value.  These are the types of guys to move now.  Obviously you also want to try to acquire guys who you think are going to climb in value.  Maybe you feel that people are way too loow on Eddie Lacy and he is a bargain, then go get him.  I just want to avoid paying that big premium for a top RB unless that deal is screaming value.

You don't have the ammo in picks to trade up to a top 4 pick to get a good rookie RB.

You have a pretty good lineup but you're very thin on the bench.  Which means you don't have what it takes to trade for a top 5 RB.

If you want to trade up for a top 4 pick, you're going to need to trade a player for a 1st rounder, preferably the 1.6 or 1.7 pick.  Based on your roster, I don't think you have anyone that you can trade and get a 1st round pick. (that isn't one of your core players)

I would just stay put for now, or follow Warhogs advice and trade for a older veteran that can help you in your 2nd flex position.

The Marshawn Lynch name is an interesting target as mentioned.  His owner might not be a motivated seller but if you can acquire him for what he is which is a guy who could be a valuable player for a top team for a year, maybe two then he may be worth looking at.
