What to do with Sims-Walker? (1 Viewer)

Looked like he was going to be headed for studom and then the last 2 weeks he has been derailed. Put up 2 real clunkers of a week:

vs. San Fran 4 catches for 46 yards

vs. Houston 1 catch for 12 yards

- Do you play him and just keep hoping for the big game again?

- he does have the size and great speed but has he been getting open?

- he does get a lot of redzone looks

- it's the playoffs but you can't afford another 3 point game!

- is it that Garrad the main problem?

- he has been spreading it around lately too

- is he still a little dinged up?

Is he going to be a super star or what??

At this point I am going with other alternatives. Seemed like a month ago Garrard was locked on to MSW. Now he is invisible.

Unfortunately I think the MSW run is over. I just can't see starting him in the next elimination games. Although Jennings has been a bum for most of the season, I'm going with him over MSW the rest of the way.

8 targets last week is not invisible.Although, last week is the only anomaly. It's the only home game where MSW hasn't done well. His next lowest point total at home was 15.25Garrad is great at home and not so much on the road.MSW @ home: 19.10 - 22.85 - 15.25 - 24.20 - 17.10 - 1.45MSW away: 0.00 - 8.60 - INACTIVE - 1.40 - 11.65 - 5.60Good news is, the next two weeks are home games.ETA: He was inactive Week #5, which was a road game @ Seattle

:goodposting: I'm continuing to ride him at home at the very least for now.

There's a reason he was on the WW to start most leagues. People that are viewing him as a WR1 that picked him off the wire are really looking too much. He has been a pleasent surprise this year and may turn into an every week producer but right now you really shouldn't look at him more than a low WR2 or a high 3 and be very happy if he goes off again.

I'm going to keep starting him but I'm officially concerned. Garrard isn't on the same page with him right now and despite the decent number of targets, MSW isn't being put in a position to succeed (it reminds me of Austin's two-game slump a few weeks ago). One positive is the Jags continue to look for MSW in the Red Zone. He was targeted in the end zone last week and should have made the catch. So if the Jags get near the end zone they will make an attempt to try and get him the ball. That's a positive. If he and Garrard can get back on the same page, the production will improve.

I don't think you can rank MSW as a Must Start any longer based on the last two games. I would rank him as a WR2 and compare him to Vincent Jackson. The talent and potential are there every week for both guys regardless of the matchup so starting them is very viable. But there is some risk involved with both so if you have options who are producing at a higher level of late, an argument can be made that you should sit them.

I have the luxery of being able to sit him and that's what I'm doing. My WR rotation for the playoffs is Rice, Boldin and Megatron. Doubt MSW sees the lineup again this year.

thishe's getting the targets, just had a bad game

People get so excited about a receiver who lags for a couple games. It's the nature of the position people. It's too dependant on other positions performing optimally for them to be as consistent. You can look at game logs of just about every receiver in the game and they will post stats like that 2-3 times a year at least.

MSW will be just fine. If you are watching his games, you would know that he's a special player in the making. Don't forget, he's still learning this full time starter gig.

I'll still start him as my #3 and not worry about it.

The real worry is that Vincent Jackson is my #2...so it sucks that these two guys who were helping to carry my team are in a funk at the same time.

 8 targets last week plus an end zone fade that should've been a TD. last two weeks are more the aberration than the norm...

I never had him as a must start, and most of the time he's on my bench (behind Megatron and DJax).

However, due to DJax's concussion, I had to play him.

Ouch.

Well said. He missed 2007, and 2008 was full of setbacks. He's only played in 20 games at the NFL level, and 2008 was full of setbacks.

Feels like one of those #2 WR talents that show up, get thrown at by their QB, perform like #1WR until they finally start getting double teamed. Once teams get some tape, they can shut down guys. Against HOU, they kept rolling a safety over to him.

It feels like you get streaks of 3-4 good/great games then fizzle. Eventually, they come back up again, because they were decent in the first place. Miles Austin, VJax, Sidney Rice, MSW... but going off targets, looks like MSW is pretty consistent.

With VJax, SD trades Chambers, then VJax puts up squat. Was Chambers that much of a distraction for other defenses?

MSW targets weeks 7-13: bye, 3, 8, 7, 9, 9, 8,

Keeping him in the lineup. Start 3 wr league, he will stay in with Colston and Jennings.

Just going to hope for the best. He is the best WR on the team, and the team is usually not blowing other people out. There will also not be a blizzard the next 2 weeks in Jacksonville.

After today, I don't know how he can be started in any league going forward. He's been absolutely brutal for three straight games.

Had to play him since Pansy Harvin couldn't play with a little headache. Next week doesn't matter for me anymore. Way to let your team down, MSW.

He's heading to my league's Waiver Wire. Bowe and Antonio Bryant are both available and I'm going to make a bid for one of them this week. I wave the white flag with Sims-Walker.

The guy has been hurt. They said even the coaches were shocked that he suddenly seemed ok to go today. My guess is that his injury is mostly to blame for his poor performance. If it hadn't been a must win game for Jax, I doubt he would have played. Glad I had other options. Jennings wasn't that much better, but even a few points more was welcome.

I think he's a talented guy but that doesn't change the fact his production the past three games has been putrid. I don't know about other Sims-Walker owners but at this point of the season I need to go with players who are producing. I rolled the dice with him today and have no one but myself to blame and it may cost me severely in my league (unless McCoy, Celek and Tynes go ballistic tonight). But I'm done with him. I can't trust him anymore.

Yeah, because migraines are no big deal. If you wish to alleviate your ignorance, a fine article is here: http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/...?page=2&c=y

"..the disease afflicts approximately 36 million Americans. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, auras (light spots), sensitivity to light and sound, numbness, difficulty in speech. An attack can last for eight hours, several days or even weeks, according to the site.

Dr. Joel Saper, a noted neurologist at the migraine headache and neurological institute in Ann Arbor, Mich., said these type of headaches remain misunderstood.

"Migraine is a serious and underestimated health problem," he said."

MSW has gone from being questionable to being doubtful to being a surprise start the past 3 days. He needs to have a good week of full practice and possibly a decent game before he goes back into my lineup.

plus the fact that most exercise-induced/exacerbated migraines are accompanied with varying levels of vision loss.what's that story about terrell davis taking a fake handoff as decoy, even though he had such a bad migraine he literally could not see?

i benched him today and will probably bench him thursday vs. the colts, even though brandon marshall lit them up today.

i don't know. he still had 6 targets today. 8 last week. 9 the week before. just not catching the ball.

any jags fans out there who can say whether these targets are catchable or not? is it him or garrard?

He's dinged up right now and it shows on the field. There's been little separation lately. Add in Garrard's sub-par (or usual) play, and you get very little production.
