What to make of Mike Sims-Walker (1 Viewer)

Okay, can someone help me out with a little info here? When exactly, what week, was MSW injured and what was the specific injury? Do we know? Can it be assumed that he's now healthy, that injury is no longer affecting his ability to run/get separation? How much of his poor fantasy stats are based on the injury as opposed to other factors; opponents D, Garrard sailing passes, Garrard throwing two passes to 9 different receivers? For owning the guy, I really don't know much about the specifics and don't see anything posted here other than: knee/calf injury. TIA
Is there a Yudkin for the Jags here, anyone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller?
Couch Potato. THE man all MSW owners owe a beer to, last three weeks of suckiness or not. He gets all credit on MSW as far as I'm concerned - and presumably knows his Jags stuff.

I'm rolling with him over Avant and Cotchery. Being a prime time game just makes it more exciting for me.
Congrats?
With options like this we'll assume you're in the toilet bowl bracket?
Hell no. Check out this monster of a lineup for this week.

QB Jason Campbell, Was QB

RB Ray Rice, Bal RB

RB Jamaal Charles, KC RB

WR Anquan Boldin, Ari WR

WR Randy Moss, NE WR

WR Mike Sims-Walker, Jac WR

TE Antonio Gates, SD TE

D/ST Packers D/ST, GB D/ST

K Rob Bironas, Ten K

Easy money.
Any openings?

I want to trust him tonight, but with everything on the line I'm not sure I can. He faced a Miami team 4 days ago with rookie CB's and had one catch. I just think he's more banged up than people believe. I don't think that can change a lot in 4 days. I may regret sitting him but I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger. Not that anyone cares, but I'm playing Jennings/Ocho/Meachem over him.

He definately brought MSW to the masses, but some of us drafted him before the season started and just kept hush about it (though I did throw the SP a bone and told them before the week 2 game that MSW was the shark play even though he didn't have a stat in week 1). I don't know if he's specificly a Jags fan or not.edit: and he's out of my lineup tonight.

He is out. I can't start him. I have Garrard also, so I can't afford a double stinker.

FWIW: starting S. Rice, Holmes, S. SMith (NYG) and then C. Benson at flex. over him.

Hope he does well, but can't start him.

He's in, but it's because my other options are Schillens, Earl Bennett, Camarillo and Mike Thomas.

It's the playoffs and I have to roll with who got me here.

:lmao:

I'm gonna start him over Britt.

Good luck everyone. Let's hope we get some karma for all the pain we've endured with MSW the past two weeks.

As quoted from MSW's Twitter Page 2 hrs ago:

I gotta feeling, woooooowhooooo that tonights gonna be a good nite, that tonights gonna be a good good nite! (Black eye peas voice)!!!

about 2 hours ago from UberTwitter

He is starting for me as well. I think Bowe has more risks this week for some reason, I would rather have Garrard throwing to me then Cassell, plus CLE went pressure crazy last week against PIT....

I know Coach Potato touted him early on. I haven't seen anyone report specific injury info about MSW tho. What was the injury, calf? What does calf mean? Is it something that can heal in 4 weeks, and is (4 weeks) ago when the injury occurred. Are the terrible stats due to that injury or facing better coverages/over under coverage/safety shading his way on passing situations? I haven't seen CP comment on this, eventhough he did a great job discussing his college injury and the idea that MSW was damaged goods. Garrard isn't terribly accurate, has he been worse lately. Revis obviously started paying attention to MSW and shut him down once he did. He's still getting a fair amount of targets and in a game where his team could be forced to catch-up could be looking at nice stats. I was looking for some recent info on him. I seem to keep getting zippy production from the Thursday nite guys that I start. Can't take 1 pt from him in a playoff week.

Still really tempted to start him over an underachieving ochocinco and crabtree...just can't seem to pull the trigger, especially without some more info

In over Housh. If it were Sunday and all my options were going off at the same time my choice might be different, but I am a sucker for action and craving some tonight.

Good luck to all.

I sat him for Britt...
If I knew for sure Young was going to play and play the whole game I'd probably lean toward Britt. I'm not as confident in Britt with Collins. And I think MSW has a shot at more receptions which is key since I'm in a PPR league. But this really is a crap shoot tonight. I'm going to chase the upside just like I did last week. Hope it doesn't blow up in my face again.

He's out for me, starting Hakeem Nicks and Antonio Bryant over him.

I started him the last 3 weeks, shame on me. The playoffs start for me tonight so he's out. If the guy goes off now after laying an egg the last month, he'll be on my most hated list. I just don't understand what happen to him. If he's hurt, how is he magically better now in 3 days time?

I don't understand that twitter page, it's going to be a big night. Do you really feel that much better than last week when you got a whopping 1 catch for 6 yards and the week before for 1 catch for 12 yards? Or is it prime time and everyone's watching and now you'll really put forth a top effort because it's certainly not any easier of a matchup.

He's out of my lineup and deservedly so. I'd start Josh Cribbs over that guy.

wet, windy, freeny, mathis, garrard...these are five of my reasons NOT to start him. not to mention that he's been injured and sucky the past few weeks.

still not sure between MSW and Hightower at flex..that matchup in DET looks too good. PPR league

That's what I really don't understand the most. Why isn't there more information about this guy? I mean, is it the injury that's holding him back? Are defenses locking down on this guy and it's just easier for Garrard to target other players? Is he in someone's doghouse and he's just not getting the looks?I mean, the guy goes from a must start to a desperation start. I'm personally just not willing to go down swinging with this guy, I don't like that he started last week and caught 1 ball for 6 yards, he should have sat.

MSW is tough decision for allot of people tonight. Like others have said we know so little about his injury it make it tough to decide.

I have Britt in over him at the moment. Just don't think I can take the risk with him.

In for me. We start 4 WR, and Burleson is out. Other options are Breaston and Walter. They've been no better, so I'm dancing with the one that got me to this point. I've also got Wayne, so tonight will go a very long way to determining the outcome of my game. It feels very boom or bust for me, and I don't like it.

Im not putting him in, cant risk it. Top seed in playoffs, playing the worst seed. Win this weekend and in the finals. Guys been too undependable the last 3 weeks, even 2 at home. Gotta go with Hightower, Arians or Jennings/Cribbs. Too many other options.

It doesn't look like wind is going to be a factor. Wet conditions tend to favor offensive players. I'm with you on the other three reasons, though. We're all focusing a lot on MSW understandably but Garrard can s**t the bed with the best of 'em. If we're lucky, Garrard will find the magic against the Colts he found against them in Jacksonville last season on the NFL Network. He threw for 329-1 in that game and Northcutt went gonzo (8-101-1).

There were weeks that MSW outscored Wayne in one league and Austin in another league but I just can't see risking it. If he blows up this week and I win then I'll feel better about subbing him in for Wayne in 16 but not this week.

IN.... It was him or Nicks but with Fitz dinged up I need to be able to switch WR's if for some reason Fitz can't go.... no choice really..... I hate Thursday games.

Like anything in this hobby, it's all about who/what your other options are. I am starting him in one league and sitting him in another. On one hand, I'm starting him over Bowe (I want to see him back for at least one before trusting him). In another league, I sat MSW because I have the depth that allows it.

ETA: I definitely made the right call in one of my leagues...

In...and as I slotted him the fireworks went off at the stadium (I'm across the river from the game. A sign...wishful thinking)

Well, here we go. My matchup has Manning and Wayne
