Growing up during the late 80's, early 90's I remember the Super Bowls being generally lopsided and anti-climactic. As a Bills fan, it was even worse. For every game such as Super Bowl XXV, we had to sit through a stretch like 83-88 where the closest margin of victory was 10 points.

Are we just lucky to have gotten so many great games recently? Have talent levels evened out due to free agency and coaching changes?

Whatever the cause is, IMO, since the 2003 Bucs win, we have been treated to almost 10 years of great games and compelling storylines.

How are Colts/Saints, Colts/Bears and Packers/Patriots options?

Bucs/Raiders was probably the most recent bad one, simply because it was so lopsided and you knew it was over once the Bucs got a lead. Their defense was not gonna be denied that day.

Was looking at games that had double digit margins of victory.

Okay, but that doesn't make them bad games. Colts/Saints was a really good, close game, and was only a double digit game at the end because of a late pick six.

We're on a pretty good run. The last 5 have all been pretty good.

I remember being bored to death with the Colts-Bears, but it was at least a competitive game.

For me it was the Boncos vs Falcons in '97 or '98... I literally fell asleep. I'm sure there have been worse ones since, but that one was a yawner.

You are obviously not a Viking's fan. As the Viking's 1998 regular season 15-1 was shot down by the Falcons going to the Super Bowl to face the Broncos which was held in 1999. Denny Green take a "knee". ArGGGGGGG!!

I was about to add that Super Bowl would've been much more exciting if the Vikes were in it instead of the Falcons, they were fun to watch that year.

Broncos were involved in the two worst for me. Broncos-Falcons had no juice....major snoozefest, and of course 55-10 was just ridiculous.

I kind of found this years Super Bowl to be a bit of a snoozer except for the 4th Q.

The last Giants-Pats Superbowl was great.

As a Steelers fan, I'm biased. I think the most exciting Super Bowl in recent memory was Steelers-Cards. Conversely, the most boring may have been Steelers-Seahawks.

Steelers-Seahawks had a WWF feel to it. It may have been close, but we all knew what was up with that stinker.

Yeah, this one was pretty lame. I heard Brent Jones call it the "mediocre bowl" which sounds about right. Just because a final hail mary heave had the game in a momen't doubt doesn't excuse all of the mistakes, lack of plays, and general sense that I was wathcing a community college championship. This game had so many flaws that it was ridiculous. A final score that might be more than a TD doesn't mean that it was a bad game just like the final score being close doesn't mean that it was a good game. I mean, look at threads. The big debate is whether Bradshaw should have scored. Pathetic.

The refs turned the Seattle/Pittsburgh Super Bowl into a mess.

Not a fan of either team but the calls just ruined that game.

Yeah the fat walrus was asleep at the wheel on the sideline the entire game.
:lmao: Much better response than Jake22s piece of poop.
Say what you will about the refereeing (my opinion, it was bad, but people only tend to remember the bad calls that went against the losing team). I was speaking mostly of the offensive output of both teams - which was basically none.

Maybe the Steelers just outplayed Seattle and made more plays to win the game...just a thought...
I think the Steelers likely win that one. But the ridiculously one sided calls made a likely close game out of reach.

You are 100% right all around here. I think Seattle was jobbed, but I don't remember them playing well either. Hell, I hardly remember the game at all. I think I tuned out after a while. It must not have been exciting at all.

Do you mean the game where the Seahawks won the turnover battle, total yards and time of possession?Awful calls by ref.Last bad game I woudl say is Indy-Chi. Even though the score wasn't that lopsided, it had that feel to it. Giants-Ravens was last bad game I remember before that.
