What week one duds will turn it around week 2? (1 Viewer)

Someone is probably going to yell at you and tell you that you are in the wrong forum but if its redraft I like VJAX still.

Huh? What does his question have to do with the asst coach forum? And what does it have to do with redraft?

And vjax was study yesterday against one of the best shutdown corners in the nfl...he abused cromartie.

Perhaps you misread his post lol

I think that the general answer here is that if you drafted a known stud player who was a dud in week 1 then you plug him rt back into you're lineup for week 2 and don't look back.

Fringe players that you missed on in week 1 like Tavon Austin, who underwhelmed in relation to his adp could be benched for players like hartline.

Other players like Wallace, Lamar miller...look at the matchups. Shut down corner covering Wallace = big week for hartline.

Tough run defense vs miller = sit him in favor of a vereen or a McFadden. (Maybe do that regardless of the defense he faces until he proves it if you have those other guys).

I do believe that Ingram will improve and if you are going to trade for him now is the time.

Dez will be just fine

All the stud RBS will be fine. (Trich, spiller, Charles, lynch, etc).

Calvin will be fine

Great time to trade for James jones. I can't believe that 0 catches will be the norm for him even with a healthy Cobb and Nelson.

Why isn't this relevant SP discussion? There were a ton of week one duds/disappointments this week. Including but not limited to the following:

QB: Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton

RB: Doug Martin, Trent Richardson, Chris Johnson, CJ Spiller, David Wilson, Stevan Ridley, Marshawn Lynch, Maurice Jones-Drew, Lamar Miller

WR: Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant, Antonio Brown, Torrey Smith, Cecil Shorts, Dwayne Bowe, Eric Decker, TY Hilton, Chris Givens, Roddy White, Mike Wallace

TE: Nobody... everyone performed well above their expectations. If anything Jimmy Graham is the disappointment here as he finished the day as TE10. Because he's apparently the only TE who DIDN'T get 2 TDs or 100 yards this weekend.

The bold players are the ones I'm less worried about. Yes, even David Wilson I'm less worried about, as Coughlin stated in the post-game. They NEED him and they will figure it out one way or another even if he has to carry around 2 footballs with him wherever he goes this week.

Lamar Miller: I thought he was a massive overhype all offseason and this game didn't make me change my tune at all. I'd say that the Dolphins O-Line looked completely awful and he looked just as bad if not worse than they do. I don't care how bad the O-Line is you should average better than 0.3ypc for the amount of hype he was getting.

Stevan Ridley: I'm more worried about him than David Wilson because Shane Vereen went off in the second half after Ridley hit the bench. If Ridley fumbles again in Week 2 he may hit the bench for good and Vereen may take over as the starting RB. That's not good considering most of us drafted him in the 3rd round as our RB2's.

Jones-Drew: I'm pretty sure that Jacksonville is just a desert for fantasy scoring this season.

Antonio Brown: Is it possible that the Steelers offense looked just as bad if not worse than Jacksonville's?

Cecil Shorts: See MJD

Dwayne Bowe: There was a fear that he'd be out of place in this offense, I think Charles is the only person worth owning on this offense. Even though I see the Chiefs offense being pretty good, I don't think any of these guys are solid starts week to week.

Eric Decker: He looks like he might be the odd man out, but I have a feeling the Denver offense will swap who the odd man out is week to week.

Mike Wallace: He just doesn't seem to fit here, the O-Line can't hold off long enough for him to setup a route.

Speaking Monday, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said Blaine Gabbert (lacerated throwing hand) is "definitely" out for Week 2.
The "definitely" implies Gabbert is staring at a multi-week absence, but Bradley claimed he's "hopeful" Gabbert will be back for Week 3. Regardless, Chad Henne will be under center against the Raiders, and could easily keep the starting job with a solid effort, regardless of Gabbert's health. For all intents and purposes, Gabbert's "prove it" season is already down the drain, just like his first two. Before going down Sunday, his yards per attempt (3.5) was worse than his yards per carry (4.0). The jig is up.
Bump all JAC skill players.

This

Shorts gets a bump for sure

I actually do think Ridley will rebound nicely at home against the Jets on Thursday night. Granted, he has to hold onto the ball, but I expect New England to get a nice lead and Ridley to run hard in the 2nd half.

Something like 22carries 125yards, 1-2TD wouldn't surprise me. If Vereen didn't hurt himself then I may think differently, but given the current composition of the roster and the type of game I'm expecting on Thursday night, I like Ridley's chance to rebound.

Edit to add: I am not a Ridley owner, but am a Vereen owner.

Megatron week 2 at Arizona.
Patrick Peterson... he's not too shabby.
I agree. Peterson is good. Last year in AZ, Calvin Johnson caught 10 passes for 121 yards and no tds. Peterson had 1 int. Should be a good match-up.

I just think it's sad it took someone on the team sticking a butcher knife through Gabbert's hand to get Henne on the field. Anyone know who the culprit on this was?
