What are you guys doing with your Packers? I happen to have Rodgers, Grant, and Jennings. Any word yet on what they will do?.

I know they can get the 5 instead of the 6, but big deal. All that means is that if there are nothing but huge upsets in the first few rounds, they'll get to host the NFC title game. I really don't see that as likely whatsoever and I'm assuming McCarthy feels the same. I would imagine they'll play the starters for at most a half.

well, #5 means they don't play the Saints in round 2. If they don't like that match up, wouldn't it make sense to play to win this Sunday and possible play the Vikings?

Huh? If the #3 seed wins and the #5 seed wins, the #5 seed WOULD play the Saints

Not to mention that while I realize the Vikes are struggling mightily lately, they still beat up on Green Bay in their last meeting. It actually looks like the two most vulnerable teams in the NFC right now are the two at the top, so I don't know that anyone is looking down the road to second round matchups.I also think that with the strong possibility of GB and Arizona meeting again in Round 1 the following week that the Packers aren't going to want to tip their hand any and show anything the Cards can use the following week if they don't need to.

Both NO and MN games will be over by the time that game starts. AZ will know where they stand prior to Kickoff. This could have an impact as well. 2nd string defensive players could on the field if it looks like the same two teams will be playing in AZ the following week. GB may wanty to win that game for positioning reasons

I dont believe for a second the Pack would mind playing in MN one more time. Beating someone 3 times in a season? i am a big Vikes fan, but I want no part of the Packers in our 1st playoff game.

The Packers decision will be a tough one. Is the 5 seed really that important or not?

Well it could be. If Dallas or Philly is the 5, either of those teams has a realistic chance of making it to the NFC Championship game. How bad would it be for the Packers if they rested their players, then made it to the championship game against Dallas and had to travel to Dallas instead of play in the Frozen Tundra?

If a playoff position is on the line, I think you have to try to win.

Last year Arizona played their starters. I think they will play their starters throughout the game no matter what. It served them well last year and I think they'll do the same this year.

I can't imagine they would look past the first playoff game to make a decision like this. It seems foolish to be thinking about the NFC conference championship when gameplanning in week 17. There is a small possibility that they would play at Minnesota or at Dallas in the wildcard game, but the greater likelihood is that they will play at Arizona. As such, they would be wise to play a vanilla game in my opinion and make sure their key players are healthy and rested for the following week.

True but Warner's had some injury troubles this year. If Minnesota wins the early game, I have a hard time believing that Arizona leaves their starters in all game while Green Bay rests theirs. A lot really depends on what Minny does at 1 PM.
