I'm having trouble predicting Frank Gore's touches today.
The Niners have a chance for an easy win at home against the hapless Falcons. SF could be up big early. In that case, it makes sense to rest Gore for the playoffs and let his talented backups run out the clock. Maybe Frank gets 60 and 1 TD or 80 and no TD.
On the other hand, Gore is about 140 yards from 10,000 career. That's a big deal. Do the Niners make sure that Frank breaks the 10K mark, at home, as the team clinches a playoff spot? Maybe Frank gets 155 and 2 TD. That could really happen - ask anyone who's watched the Falcons play run defense this year.
What is Jim Harbaugh gonna do? Put Gore up on the shelf or ride him like a rented mule?
