Went Team Burger. I need the fresh lettuce, onions and pickles. And all the condiments.

And for those that say you can't have a burger for breakfast have never had Whataburger's Breakfast On A Bun.

I eat burgers for breakfast all the time. And not burgers with breakfast things on them, I'm talking like Five Guys style actual burgers with the normal fixins.

When Steak N Shake used to be open 24 hours I'd get burgers at 9am on the reg. Burgers for breakfast are criminally underrated.

When I was younger I would have said Pizza. Nowadays, it's hamburgers and it's not close.
This.

Pizza is a fat/carbs disaster.

At least with a burger I can pick a healthy meat like a grass fed beef or bison and do a lettuce wrap instead of a bun and have a good meal.

I know there are healthified options with Pizza but they are a lot worse than what i just described with the burger.
You have never had a pizza with a cauliflower crust? They can be amazing.

"pick one for the rest of your life"

Given this parameter I choose burger.

Any topping I like on a pizza I can add to a burger.

I can eat a burger without the bun if I am not in the mood for a carb coma.

A green chile bacon cheeseburger, with fresh RAW onion and tomato, some avocado, may just be the perfect meal.

If the question had been what is your favorite meal after a dozen beers or dozen bong rips or dozen miles on the trail I would have gone with pizza. But for a daily meal burger all the way.
But you can put a burger on a pizza!#@!@#

Blaze Pizza has a terrific cauliflower crust. And if you're looking for one to bake at home, this one from Milton's is really good. Available at a lot of grocery stores.

This one looks a lot better.

Love both but went pizza because there are enough things (cheesesteaks, roast beef sandwiches, etc.) similar enough to burgers that I’d be fine whereas nothing really substitutes for pizza (maybe pasta?).

For me, it breaks down like this:

Team Burger: I can make it into a broach, a hat, top it with 500 different cheeses….

Team Pizza: Dude. It’s pizza.

Voted Pizza.

Went burger. One of my favorite foods and one that I find myself craving (spent a week in Europe, first thing I wanted when I came back was a burger)

I certainly enjoy pizza, but I think I could live without not eating it ever again if i had to make the choice

People are saying there are more options for pizza toppings, but I dunno

Ketchup
Mayo
Mustard
1000 island
ranch
BBQ Sauce
Relish
bacon
Chili
Avocado
Lettuce
Onions
Cheese
mushrooms
eggs
peppers

on and on

And a couple other related points in favor of burgers.

- Pizza only really takes certain kinds of cheeses. "4 cheese" is about as crazy as it gets. It's mozzarella and various other mozzarella-like cheeses. With burgers, you pretty much have the entire cheese catalog to put on your burger. Want some American, Cheddar, Brie, Blue Cheese, Queso? OK!

- With pizza, you can only put 3 maybe 4 different toppings max before it stops being able to hold up. And if you go to Italy, the home of the pizza, they will laugh at you for putting more than 2. Burgers can hold much more. Want bacon, 1000 Island, lettuce, tomato, onions, mushrooms, and cheese on your burger? Sure thing!

Conclusion: Burgers are much more versatile in terms of toppings/variations.

I eat all of those toppings and more on hamburgers, however there are still more possible toppings for pizza. Plus the crust thickness and base sauce can really change the flavor, everything from pink sauce, bbq sauce, white sauce, olive oil, spicy marinara, etc and then detroit to NY style.

Pizza can be more varied in flavor.
Whatever diversity there is with pizza sauce, there is equal diversity among condiments.

ketchup
yellow mustard
Dijon mustard
brown mustard
mayonnaise
burger sauce
barbecue sauce
Big Mac sauce
honey mustard
fry sauce
salsa
guacamole
tzatziki sauce
truffle aioli
garlic mayo
green chile sauce
sriracha
ranch dressing

just to name a few.

You can prefer pizza, but you cant really argue that the toppings are more diverse.

The only thing pizza has over burgers that I would agree to are the styles. Chicago is totally different from NY for example. I don't think burgers can claim the same thing.
Quality and core >>>>> toppings / condiments.
You can put any meat on a pizza, or none. A hamburger is a hamburger no matter the topping. If the poll had included other types of burger that would be different. But then we’re really just talking sandwiches. (Yes, a hamburger is a sandwich)
One could live on heathy pizzas and not get bored. Can’t say the same for hamburgers.

By that standard the quality and core of good beef is miles ahead of dough and sauce...

Hawaiian-style loco moco is good for breakfast too.

Voted burger. I understand the points about pizza and why most are voting that way.

I've had some very good pizza, but I don't know if I've ever had a slice and said OMG! This is amazing! I say that every time my brother-in-law makes smashburgers on the Blackstone. It would be easier for me to live without pizza the rest of my life.

Why are you assuming the core of my burgers are not top quality? Freshly baked buns and quality grade meat that has just been ground?

I dont get this. You can literally switch the words pizza and burger in your post and have it still be true. Except for this statement
A hamburger is a hamburger no matter the topping"
That's not true for pizzas or burgers.

Fair point.
But I’ll still take https://lowcarbyum.com/sheet-pan-pizza/
a cauliflower pizza with fish shrimp and scallops.

then its not a fair poll unless you're restricting style of pizza. But I'm still choosing hamburger and arguing that the variety of toppings and options is just as if not more abundant than for pizzas.

Take it up with the poll master.
Totally disagree on the variety, I’m not even seeing how it could be close.
I will agree that a great burger is often better than a great pizza. I voted more for variety, but at the high end, one meal only, the vote would be burger.

And sorry but you're not putting things like brie or queso on a pizza unless you're being gross. Burgers clearly are more diverse here.
Queso for sure is a no go. But brie? I've had an incredible brie, caramelized onions, arugula pizza before.

And other cheeses? So many are wonderful to have on pizza. Provolone, fontina, feta, ricotta, havarti, goat, gruyere, gorgonzola, etc.

Neither is healthy. But cauliflower crust veggie pizza is arguably better than any burger. Even if your “burger“ is bunless, with the finest grass fed meat.

I'm saying you could if you'd really miss those things. Pizza crust dipped in mustard doesn't sound so bad. Mayo is kinda nasty but if one likes it, that also seems ok.

This doesn't make sense as I've never said that at all. All I've said is that the amount of variety you can have with burgers is comparable to pizza. So many people say they prefer pizza because of the topping variety. It makes no sense. Burgers have just as many options.

And I haven't even mentioned the fact that when you get a burger, 9 times out of ten, you also get fries. That's worth a ton.

And I haven't even mentioned the fact that when you get a burger, 9 times out of ten, you also get fries. That's worth a ton.
Doesn't factor into this decision. Otherwise 9 out of 10 times I get pizza I get a salad and a couple beers
You can have your salad. Fries >>>> salad
I get the beer too then!!

:)
It's a wash. You think I'm having my burger and fries with a water?
