What's the latest on Addai and impact on Keith? (1 Viewer)

Bye week, so you probably won't hear much either way until next Tuesday. My guess (pure speculation, nothing more) is Addai will be fine for week 7.

I think Keith has value even to a non-Addai owner. I can easily see Addai getting dinged up again and Keith being a spot-start factor later in the year.

I own both and plan to hang onto Kieth. He's obviously a solid play in the event Addai is out.
Agreed... I completed a multi-player trade today in which I rec'd Addai/Keith. I will hold onto Keith as his performance week 5 makes me view him as a solid starter should Addai go down again...

I don't think it's possible to get a stable value on Keith yet since we haven't seen if the mix of Addai/Keith will change now that Indy has more confidency in Keith's ability to run well and carry the load.

Keith's greatest value at this point will be to the inexperienced fantasy player or a player who already has Addai.

The smart move at this time is to wait and see if you don't already have Addai or Keith.

I personally think that we'll see Keith have a bigger role and I'd say that he would at least match the value of Julius Jones when Addai is healthy and the value of Addai when Addai is injured.

I think everyone expects Addai to come back for the Jax game. If he doesn't play then his shoulder or chest is worse than expected. There is a possiblity he goes down again after taking a few shots on his shoulder. We'll see next week...really early to post during the colts bye week. has Addai been labeled "Fragile" yet?

Porcelin Portis

Fragile Fred

Aching Addai?

FWIW, Dungy said that Addai would've played week 5 had it been a playoff game..

I like Keith, i really do. But if your asking what kind of value he has if Addai is playing then the answer is none.. A few carries even for 8 per is worth 4 pts. You can find better almost anywhere..He really only has true value to the addai owner... Unless you can stash him on a deep bench.

When Addai returns the impact you hear will be Keith's value hitting the floor.
theres no doubt Keiths value is minimal when Addai is healthy. Noone is doubting Addai as the starting RB, Keith owners hold onto him b/c its only a matter of time when addai goes down again or for the fantasy playoffs. Addai owners dont deny the fact that Keith is a capable if not better RB. If I was an Addai owner I'd have Keith on my team after the week #1 scare. If you dont have him you missed the boat a solid handcuff to FF gold in the colts backfield.

Ugh ...you are making me sick.

Im in agreement that he's worth nada with Addai healthy/playing.

However, somehow he's still on our waiver wire (I guess due to short benches) and I'm trying to move Selvin Young either solo or in a package deal with KJ for a WR upgrade/depth. I'm very deep at RB, and a trade like that would give me room to stash Keith as my RB5.

I think this is the wise move for non-Addai owners. As was said going into the season, Addai's never carried the load a full year and has already been dinged a couple times through 5 weeks. What about when the Colts possibly clinch homefield late in the year?

I wouldn't overpay to acquire Keith if you don't have Addai, but I think saving him for an Addai owner's "rainy day" makes a lot of sense since when he starts he's probably good for 100 and 1

Don't own Addai but picked up Kieth for bye weekplay last week. I am keeping him now to either trade with the Addai owner in our league or for our league playoffs.

IF the colts clinch early (week 15 or 16), I suspect Dungy will rest Addai, especially if he is a little dinged up.

I can see the Colts using Keith like they did Rhodes last year. With the Colts winning there is no reason foe Addai to take the pounding he has been.Plus Addai put up good numbers sharing the load last year, and stayed healthy.

NE down?i know folks say "possibly" with respect to the Colts clinching, but it seems unlikely to me. IMO only thing they might clinch around that time is the AFC South and maybe be locked into a #2 seed where they cant change their position. The best thing for Colts and NE owners would be for them to be within one loss of each other in week 16 b/c homefield in the AFC championship could be worth everything.I own Keith but not Addai. dont know what this means, but i dont see a lot of blowouts on the horizon which could limit Keith in the short term.. bye,@Jac,@Car,NE,@SD (next 5)i am a dreamer, and so their week 16 matchup at home against Houston as they are still battling with NE for homefield is reason enough to hang on to Keith just in case..

For those of you not sure what to do with Keith ...

I hate holding onto a guy that won't get any carries except when the starter goes down with an injury. So many times it seems like a waste of roster space when you could pickup another guy who's starter already went down (Watson/Wright/Leonard).

Thing is, as we all know, Keith will likely put up great RB1 numbers in the event that Addai does go down. I plugged him in last week when playing the Addai owner and won the matchup because of it.

I just can't get myself to drop the guy because my team is very likely an Addai injury away from a fantasy championship.

If Steve Smith looks good this week, then I have a tentative verbal commitment from the Addai owner to package Smitty and Keith for CJ. I think that's a fair approximation of his value.

Tentative verbal commitment? Why do I get the feeling we'll be seeing an "Oh my god this guy backed out of a trade with me...what do I do?!?" post from Chub after Smith goes off this weekend?Anyways, with Keith if you have him, I think you definitely have to keep him stashed away. You're basically guaranteeing 100 and a score with upside should Addai miss any week. All you need is for Addai to roll and ankle and get rested for a couple playoff weeks, and you've given yourself a huge leg up on a title. Even if I were in trouble and needed help this week, I'd be looking at dropping a borderline WR or something before dropping Keith. At the very least you should be getting something for him from the Addai owner.

No kidding. Sort of like saying, "player X had successful surgery on injury Y today." It's always successful. Ever heard of an unsuccessful surgery? Every heard the team say, "well the surgery didn't go as well as planned. But we'll see if he can rehab the injury post surgery, trot him out there, hope he doesn't make it any worse and when he can't perform we'll shut him down for the season and operate again...."

Won't happen. If Smitty goes berserk this week (hope, hope), I will be thrilled to package him with Keith for CJ. The talent difference b/w CJ and Smith is small, while the difference b/w Palmer and Carr/Vinny/Moore is the difference b/w a Ducati and a Big Wheel.
