I think I'd feel good with drafting Lacy any time after 1.05 in a startup dynasty.
We used to deferring to ADP as the 1.01, but he's going to before next season starts. He's on pace for roughly 3/5 of what he did last year; granted it was an all-time season, yardage wise. His TDs are steady. He has a big injury on his rap sheet. Would I want him? He'll yes! Is he still dynasty 1.01... I don't think so.
Another possibility at 1.01 is Jamaal Charles. Solid choice, catches are on pace to be near double his career average. Yards per carry is more an a yard below career average, however. Only 27 when next season starts, reasonable to expect similar usage as he has had in year 1 of the Reid regime. Certainly a 1.01 contender.
Would consider LeSean McCoy - runs well, catches a lot of passes, break away ability. Not exactly a TD machine with the exception of 2011. Only 26 at the start of next year. I would consider him every bit as good of a choice as Charles.
Marshawn Lynch is another thought. 28 years old next season. Perhaps the most physical RB in the NFL right now. Doesn't catch a ton of passes but should have his highest reception total since 2008 and set a career high in TDs. This is his prime. The question is, does age and abuse draw the end closer than the others. A stud any way you look at it.
Calvin Johnson is the only non-RB I would consider. Stud. Physical freak. 29 next season, but should have a longer shelf life than the vast majority of RBs. His only inconsistency seems to be the occasional "game of a lifetime" sprinkled in. Stafford loves him, and it looks like they'll grow old together. This could be a solid, solid 1,01 dynasty pick.
Those are my top 5. If forced to rank them, I'd probably start with McCoy, then Charles, Mega, Lynch and at 1.05 ADP.
Eddie Lacey is obviously just cutting his teeth at 23. Has a solid team around him. Getting the opportunity to be more of a leader with Rogers down at a critical point in the season. Should be around 1000 yards rushing, not seeing a lot of passes at less than 2 per game. The team seems committed to him as evidenced by ignoring Franklin. One would assume the best is yet to come. Others might argue Graham or Forte, but I'm not drafting. TE this early and thou Forte is solid, I wouldn't put him in the same tier as the others.
So I think, if I was to draft a startup dynasty today, I'd take Edfie Lacy at 1.06.
