What's the oldest "classic" thread you remember at FBG (or FFT) (1 Viewer)

I remember a thread about the guy who moved in with his aunt and uncle and the aunt making sexual advances toward him. I could barely get through the first page. My ribs ached from laughing so hard.

For me, its colonblow, Russian Bride draft and Jerry Rice: Not a HOF'er. I believe Rice was the first of those 3.

I think Clyde probably my favorite of all time though.

Ritz cracker toss

there must have been a dozen twenty year olds tossing crackers at their local high school football fields for a week

What got me hooked for good was the all-time basketball draft. Nipsey was outrageously funny there. 2004-05 time range. I remember walking around the grocery store after work looking at my list for the next round instead of actually shopping.

Not necessarily a "classic" thread, but there was this one guy I vaguely remember who would pop into other folks threads seemingly at random and tell odd stories that seemed nonsensical for a while but actually had a point to them.  Would talk about a cousin, or a friend with a weird name...

It was before my time, but I read Saints-Man's (possibly sic) thread about his ex-girlfriend from start to finish.

RIP, friend I never met.

Vivian Darkbloom
Darkbloom choosing and arguing the metaphor was a milestone for me, one of those FIFA moments that I remember where I was when I read it. Kind of like the FFA Family Feud with the two cliques going head to head and I think sandbagger playing the Richard Dawson role.

Gateway and zippy in a post count battle when the new board went live. I think zippy had something planned for his 10,000 or maybe 100,000th post, then got banned before he could pull it off.

9/11 thread there was a guy from Cleveland, maybe "Bownsfan" or similar posting insane stuff all night and I just sat in my apt refreshing the thread.

The one thread that got me hooked here on a daily basis was poor Man In The Yellow Hat's camping trip.
I've read that one, too. studs n duds's video with guys spitting on a train and dubbed in dialogue was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen.

Listing all of these old threads is clearly a ploy to motivate Tatum.Bell

The thread informing FFA that the Mansion sportsbook was offering risk-free action on the NFL season opener.  If you bet $1100 on the Steelers to cover they would pay out $1000, and if they didn't cover they would leave the $1100 in your account for future bets.  As a group we took them for a big stack of racks.
I remember this. i think it was against Miami. A buddy and I took the site for a grand.

I remember Otis and the flight attendant. The Colon Blow diaries I only saw in a bump later (or maybe a reference to it and then I searched for it, back in the good old days when the search function actually worked)

Not a single thread, but the day that the miscreants from :e: posted nothing but positive things was hilarious.  The shark pool was baffled by my rant about how sad it made me that people said such mean things about Greg Gumbel.

I remember a thread where Tim rambled on with a 300-word sentence about nothing.  Oh yeah, and that episode of Three Company where there was a misunderstanding.

There was a Clemens Sucks thread on Sidelines website that I remember being a great thread, not sure how many people here used to post on that site.

I liked the one where everybody donated money to dude who had just got flooded out of everything only for dude to turn around and use the money for a vacation.

Seriously?  I must have missed that.  I remember some girl wanted people to buy her upgrades but not the flood.

Colon blow diaries and FF excuse shirt are the 2 best where I was IN from day 1.  Amazing threads

Tatum Bell motivation is in the next tier.

I don't remember why I got here, but it was the :11: and the gay dudes at OBC that I laughed and laughed and laughed about.

I got run over in the smackdown by the lawyer nerd from Cali, had a hidden message in his chatter...well done.

Then work started to monitor message boards, and freaked out when JZilla posted something that referenced my work, as though I was offering advice.  I walked away.  For A LONG time.  Now I laugh because it's still all the same dudes here making me laugh.

Short list of all time posters:

Was going to say Augment Lauren. Wasn't that pre-2000?

When someone here actually started corresponding directly with her, it was one of the first moments when I realized how truly different the Internet was making the world.

This was also the first place I ever saw the "Downfall" meme and the version all about the FFA is still in my mind as one of the funniest ones I ever saw - though maybe that's because it was the first.

Edited to add: Still laugh out loud when I think of Shiny's line: "It will be like Lincoln-Douglas, but with dumb people."

P&S our Uber team is still fighting the good fight.  We might actually win hockey! (I still don't know one player on our NHL team).
