Whats the weather in Green Bay? (1 Viewer)

(HULK)

(Smash)
Its looking very likely that its going to be raining in Green Bay today.

Given that Green Bay had looked crummy against the pass and okay/decent against the run, I was figuring Bush was a good start because he's get his yards and probably a TD through the air. Now, with the weather being so nasty, I'm not so sure.

So, any Green Bay locals have any insight into how the weather is. Is it pouring? Is it just wet?

Also, how do we think this will effect Bush, who's trademark cutting skills might be impaired by a wet field, and who's receiving skills might be impacted by a downpour?

It's cloudy and 68 degrees. There are some showers south and to the west...nothing major. I think the weather won't be a factor...looks like the bad stuff is way down to the south and west.Don't touch that Bush!!By the way, nice beaver.

Thanks, thats good to know. All I've got are websites, and they've apparently got Green Bay experiencing the great flood or something.

Rain favors the offense because he knows where he's going and the defense has to react.

Wind favors the defense, especially against passing.

Today

Watch for Lightning

Scattered Strong Storms

High

73° F

Precip: 60%

A few showers this morning with scattered strong thunderstorms developing during the afternoon hours. Storms may produce large hail and strong winds. High 73F. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

According to the hype Bush doesn't need to touch the ground moving the ball forward anyway....
I don't know. He's looked pretty good for a first game. Catches the ball well, runs up the middle with some power.

As of 9:33am cst it is bright and sunny with a slight breeze. Local weatherman said there is a slight possibility that we could get rain sometime in the 4th quarter or when leaving the stadium.

By that time the game will be out of hand and N.O. starters will be on the bench.

you think i should bench favre for steve mcnair? the rain might impact favre
I'd make the move not because of the wind but because McNair gets the Raiders at home.I have to choose between Favre and Delhomme in a few leagues... would love to have McNair to plug in over either of those guys.

Hey Guys,

I'm actually a meteorologist here in Minnesota. I have to agree with the TV guy Keggers is talking about. It really looks like most of the game will be fine, with the computer models not really showing any development until after 3 local time, which would be towards the end of the game...

Now that, is good input. Thanks

I think he's lying.

I would think bad weather would bode well for Ahman Green as well? I have to decide between Westy (GTD) and Ahman. Meh!

now why would you think that...This is the model output for 18z (1pm local time): Notice, nothing over green bay...

1pm model image

This is the model output for 00z (7pm local time): Notice the development over and just east of green bay

7pm model image

The model only comes in 6 hr increments, so we have to extrapolate the data. Which in this case, would not develop storms until 3pm or so. I'm not saying there is NO risk of storms in GRB before that, but If i had to put a percentage with it I'd say 20% before 2:30p, 60% after.

Believe me or not, its up to you...

You know, if he really was a meteorologist, it would be cool if FBG put him(or another meteorologist) on staff to give a weather update every sunday morning for all games! Could be very helpful! Just a thought.

i'd be game for it!If you are still skeptical, here is where I work: Link

Small, but getting bigger, company that forecasts the weather for various Energy clients, aviation clients, and even DOTs. Some of our bigger clients are Commonweath Edison out of the Chicago area, Tennessee Valley Authority, Georgia Power, We Energies out of Wisconsin, and various smaller clientel across the northeast and southeatern US. I graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2003 with my B.S. in Meteorology and have been working here at Meteorlogix for 3 years.

Newest computer models just came in, with the same solution, not rain/storms til after 3pm or so...
