What's up with Jerious Norwood? (1 Viewer)

What is going on with Jerious Norwood? Is he worth rostering in a 12 team league? Other options are Maurice Morris and Kolby Smith.

Norwood should be back in a couple of weeks. Snelling missed practise yesterday though he's more likely to go, but still in doubt at this stage.

Okay, apparently noone practiced, but the team still had to release an injury report explaining who didn't practice because of injury rather than because there was no practice scheduled:

Hypothetically speaking, Falcons all banged up

The Falcons didn’t practice Wednesday, but, if they had about a quarter of the team would have been out with injuries.

Don’t read too much into this yet because it’s just one of those weird things that comes along every now and then when NFL rules and reality get tangled together. Even though the Falcons, who played Monday night, did not take the practice field Wednesday, they had to file an official injury report.

So how do they determine who “practiced’’ and who did not? They have to estimate. They put out a list of 12 guys who they said would not have practiced if the team had practiced.

Defensive end John Abraham (foot), defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux (ankle), offensive tackle Sam Baker (ankle), receiver Brian Finneran (ankle), defensive tackle Thomas Johnson (calf), linebacker Curtis Lofton (knee/ankle), running back Jerious Norwood (hip), long-snapper Mike Schneck (ribs), running back Jason Snelling (hamstring), receiver Eric Weems (ankle), receiver Roddy White (knee) and tight end Keith Zinger (back) would not have practiced -- if there had been practice.

Some very significant names on that list. But don’t get too worried just yet. Remember, this is only an estimate. The real test will come Thursday when the Falcons really practice and we find out how many of these guys practiced.

im concerned about these 2 as well only because I would like to stash turners main backup for the remainder of the season. Who would you guys recommend picking up?

If both are healthy they will continue to split backup duty. Snelling is a better bet to stay healthy given Norwood's injury history and would fill Turner's role if Turner were to go down. Norwood would remain a change of pace back as Snelling's game is a lot more similar to Turner's - Snelling is also the best pass blocker of the 3.

With no evidence, I'm convinced Snelling would take over for Turner, and Norwood would continue in his normal 8-12 touches role.

So there saying that if there was practice Turner would have been out there? I don't think they wnat to risk the trouble Mangini got into by not reporting it. Maybe I'm wrong.
