I’m watching the Colts game and I see BB spitting while on the sidelines. He not physically exerting himself, it’s indoors on carpet. Are other coaches as classy as BB?

even better today, as TN was getting ready for a late FG (i think it was in regulation), they pan in on R Bironas for a close up - getting ready for his kick.

so he decides that is a good time for the hillbilly/farmer nose blow, where you hold one nostril down and hurl snot on the ground. and, yes, he cleared both sides in case you were wondering.

Maybe it helps balance him?

Who does he have to impress? You?
"Who does he have to impress? You?"It’s not a question of impressing me. It’s a question of hygiene and not behaving like bum. If you think this is acceptable I would hate to see your house.

Well for one, I doubt Belichick spits in his own house -- and neither do I. Although I did by accident once when I was younger. My mother was pretty pissed.I didn't mean to come off like a d1ck, I just think that people are entirely too nit-picky about Bill Belichick since the incident that must not be named for fear of the thread taking a sharp right off the side of a cliff. The man is a football coach. He's not concerned with what clothes he's wearing, he's not concerned what people will think of him because he spit on the sidelines. All the guy cares about is winning. It's not that he's "classless" (although I'm sure there's a lot of people who think that he is), its that he just doesn't care. He doesn't have the time or the necessary willpower to care for something that will not effect his teams ability to win a football game. Some say he's too sheltered, closed, and serious. I say the man just has a very close and meaningful relationship with the game he coaches. He's been around it nearly his entire life. I actually read in a Sporting News interview with him is that he says the worst part of his job is cutting people. And one of the reasons he has such a stone-cold demeanor is so that he doesn't get work mixed with his personal life. Because if he did, the roster cuts would be that much more difficult and painful.

Obviously, you don't get MLB games where you live...?

I saw Matt Prater taking a pee in the back of the endzone before making a kick.

I was just going to post that. If you saw Garza pitch in the ALCS, well, I almost puked a few times.

  Dead on about BB. And really, it's allergy season. Some of us have to hawk a few here and there - get over it, people.

Until men that poop in the laundry baskets of the opposite sex are no longer in the NFL, I doubt I will be worrying whether someone spit on the artificial turf at a football game. Seriously, is it the fact that he spit on the ground that bothers you or because he did it in a dome versus and outdoor stadium??

I'm sure your husband can explain it to you.

"I'm sure your husband can explain it to you"

I asked him when he got back from your moms house. He said that if he catches you spitting indoors on carpet he’ll spank you harder then he spanked your Mom last night.

Seriously I’m not getting into a flame war over a simple question. Don’t look for anymore replies from me on this tread.

Hmmm...let me try to explain. The "art" of spitting begins at an early age. Many youth who play sports adopt the habits/lingo/mannerism of those they watch and idolize. Spitting, as disgusting as some may think, is part of the culture of outdoor sports. Kids spit, teens spit, grown men spit...even when he is not actively engaged in sport...like when taking the dog for a walk. The "spit" just becomes a habit and can happen anytime. I'm sure BB is an ex-athlete who will never be able to break his spit habit.

This explanation is all tongue in cheek of course, no disrespect to the OP...kinda funny though.

If you think this is bad, take a look at the pants of the O and D lineman. I'd say about one or two from each team piss themselves every game.
