I almost never watch the RZC on Sunday Ticket (watched no more than 20 minutes of it in the 2.5 seasons of having it available). If I didn't have ST, I wouldn't pay $6 a month for the RZC and probably would watch a lot less football than I do now -- depending on what game is on local TV.I'd rather watch whatever game I'm most interested in that week. Sometimes, I flip between multiple games, but in those cases, I'm in control. If my team isn't on, then it's usually whatever game has the most fantasy league interest for me (and sometimes it's 2 or 3 games). I'm also more likely to put the DirecTV GameMix Channel on than the RZC.I know a lot of people LOVE the RZC, but I'm not one of them.
I'm pretty much the exact same way, although I'm sure I've spent more than 20 minutes the past couple of seasons on the RZC, I do know that I haven't watched a second of it the past 3 weeks.

I believe that if you want Red Zone and you have DirecTV, you have to get the Superfan package (extra $100 for the season) . . .

That's lame... I'll have to look into this. Guess I'll call tomorrow and see if I can swindle just the Red Zone Channel out of 'em.

I believe SuperFan gets you the HD RZC, but you should get the SD version with Sunday Ticket alone. Then again, I can't imagine having ST without watching all the games in HD. DirecTV will typically comp you the SuperFan fee ($100) if you call.

You would be if you had so many trees in your yard and couldn't get DTV and this was the next best thing, lol. Oh, and as for cutting them down, the executive decision was made that the trees stay.

Even those that can get DTV don't want it anymore with Redzone.A few do, but not many. DTV is dead after this year as everyone i know who has it is dropping it since they only had it for Sunday Ticket, which is now useless to most.

There are a bunch of different $ amounts being thrown around for how much this thing costs... How much does it cost for DirecTV customers?
THe RZC on DirecTV comes as part of the Superfan Package which is normally $99. However, after negotiating with them I got the Sunday Ticket, Superfan, and other goodies and discounts for $150 total this season.

I'm thinking DTV drops their price drastically next season to compete with the NFLN RZC. There is still great value to be had (at the right price) for the Ticket. It's awful nice to be able to select which game you want to see of the afternoon games. The RZC becomes less valuable to me during the late games as there is less action I'm mossing by watching a full game rather than the RZC.

If anyones paying more than $5 a month, you are getting riped off!!! I pay 5 dollars through Comcast in South Florida and i also get other channels with it. College sports channels, NHL channel, NBA channel etc. This seriously is the best thing since sliced bread!!! And its now in FUL HD!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@

I have nothing but good things to say about the NFL RedZone channel.

I was pissed in August b/c I moved from a house to a condo and couldnt get a clear signal for DirecTV. The last 3 years I have had a great setup with 2 TVs and the Sunday Ticket in my living room.

With the RedZone channel and my laptop though I really dont feel like Im missing anything and Im saving a good chunk of money by paying $5 a month instead of the jacked up cost of Sunday Ticket plus Superfan, even after negotiating the discounts I got every year.

And FWIW I am completely done w/ DirecTV. The day I moved the installer came to my condo to "transfer" my service to my new address. After he couldnt get a signal he stated that DirecTV would cancel my service and send boxes for me to put my receivers in and send back to them. Well, I never got any boxes, put the recievers in a hall closet, figured they would send them eventually, and pretty much forgot about it.

The other day I check my bank account and see that DirecTV took out nearly $600. When I call to see WTF is going on they tell me that the took the amount for outstanding balance and unreturned equipment. To make a long story short the ####ers are gonna have to reimburse me all the money plus some for overdraft fees. I spent over 2 1/2 hours of my life getting this resolved and had to talk to 3 incompetent idiots who gave me lots of misinformation before finding someone with some common sense that helped me. These idiots continued to charge me for service at my old address even though they had it on file that I had moved, requested a transfer of service, and that the installer couldnt get a signal at my new address.

This was easily the WORST customer service experience in my entire life and one of the supervisor told me that "unfortunately I have seen this quite a bit." Luckily for me, the NFL Redzone channel ensures that these fools will never get my money again.

F DirecTV.

I already get those free with my package with Verizon, so paying the 50 for the year works out to be the same thing as getting those channels for 5 per month.

it's good, except for 2 major problems i have with it:

#1: it's on a 5 second delay, which is annoying

#2: this absolutely enrages me....once the later set of games begin, they cut in 3 or 4 times to show a couple of minutes of highlights from the early games. um, why? this defeats the whole f'ing purpose of the thing. this past sunday, while the titans were at the 9ers 7-yardline, they were busy showing snippets of denny greene's famous press conference. really pisses me off that they do this. like the early games are for some reason more important than the later set.
