Things on my mind:

-If Carolina goes to the playoffs S. Smith should win the MVP

-I. Bruce continues to be a fantasy starter.

-The Saints are for real.

-Detroit is starting to get Martz's offense

-Warner is now offically done as an NFL QB after only 4 weeks into the year and it is not due to an injury. (I thought this wouldn't happen until much later into the season).

-Brees is a much better QB then he gets credit for. One of the top 10 in the league, really getting close to top 5. Remember he is only 26 the same age as Vick right now. (Brees was born in 79 though compared to Vick at 80).

-I hate NE but you can never count them out.

-Would have never thought that one of the early offensive rookie of the year candidates would come from the Saints and not be named Bush.

-That in 3 nfl games the Raiders throwing game has only had 27 completions. That whopping average of 9 a game is so bad. In fact, L. Coles in the 3 games before this week had 24 completions himself.

-M. Turner has 221 yards in 3 games behind the games best RB and is on pace for 1179 yards.

-Grossman has to be considered an actual fantasy starter every week and should be considered as an early season MVP candidate  This is crazy as only a month ago people were calling for Griese to start the season.

-You can come back from knee injuries quicker than ever before.

-Just when you think the T. Owens saga couldn't get any weirder it can.

-I think there has been far to many personal fouls called this year that shouldn't have been.

-The refs are starting to get a bit better, but they still take way to much time on video reviews.

-Favre still has some games in him.

-I didin't think that after 3 weeks Frye, Grossman, Carr, and Pennington would be averaging more points than C. Palmer and T. Brady.

-I didin't think that after 4 weeks there would only be 9 RB's in the NFL that have more rushing TD's than P. Manning. And S. Alexander is not one of those 9 guys.

Biggest Surprise of the year so far:

it is not a fantasy stat or even the TO suicide scandal but a guy playing in the NFL would have the nerve to rake his cleats against another human being while he is defenseless and on the ground. That is disgusting; and it is not as if it was a little scrape, he cut him open for 20 stiches. Absolutely shocking.

Nice stuff. I agree with you on Brees and Grossman... They are close to joining the new elite QB's list.

Too many personal fouls as well. Any time there is a hard hit the flags come out, regardless of whether the hit was "legal". Every time a QB is touched after the ball leaves his hand the hankies come out.

As for the knee injures... I agree to an extent. Culpepper is obviously not back, and Palmer doesn't seem like himself either. Deuce and Javon Walker, however, look great. Interesting. But it does seem the rehab and ligament surgeries are allowing for quicker recovery times.

When they were drafted, I thought the Chargers made the move of the century.

Dropping down from #1, and getting LT, then drafting Brees in the 2nd RD.

I thought this tandem would have been GOLD.

I thought at that time, and still do think, Brees will end up having a better career than Vick.

I was serioulsy eating crow early on in Brees's career, but I will stick with my prediction.

Whether Vick gets injured, or remains 1 dimensional, but in the end, I think Brees will have the better career.

good stuff. I predict Joe B. will use at least a third of these in his Random Shots, but he'll give you credit.

great point

I started a thread on this a few weeks ago.. it's amazing how quickly Braylon, Javon, Palmer, Deuce and Culpepper came back this year and how effective most of them have been

Don't forget Rodney Harrison. He's older than Methuselah and came back pretty quickly.

Man, I can't wait to see the punishment handed down or given down by Fisher to this guy. I'd be completely outraged if I was a Titan fan also, I used to have alot of respect to the rival team that always gave Indy a handful (and handily kicked our tails for a few years after the realignment). Now I'm starting to think the PUNK mentality has permeated the entire team.I know when I was a kid, I split my head open (don't ask, I was reckless to say the least) to the sum of 16 stitches. I nearly died, was very close. 20 stitches is a monstrous gash, man. WTF, there is no verbal insult, no physical insult that can justify something like this. If I'm the Cowboys player, I sue the holy-@#%@#-balls outta this guy, and possibly try to send him to jail for assault.
