Wheelhouse - Interesting Stats, Info and Tidbits

Thru Week 11

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody! Sorry this is kinda short this week, but I don't have a lot of time with family visiting and all.

What have you done for me lately?

1. Turning the corner? San Francisco has allowed 31 TD's this year (most in the NFL) but did you know, they have allowed only 3 TD's in their last 3 games?

2. ENVER - What happened to the "D"? The Broncos allowed only 3 TD's in the first 7 weeks of the season. They have allowed 11 TD's in their last 4 games.

3. Team Records - last 3 games

14 Branch

14 Jackson

Rec yards:

196 Branch

TD's:

112.0 S. Smith

109.2 C. Taylor

106.4 W. Parker

102.1 A. Green

100.3 K. Jones

9. Maybe I'm the only one who cares about this stat - There is no team that is averaging the following...

100+ rush yards per game

250+ passing yards per game

less than 100 yards rushing allowed per game

less than 200 yards passing allowed per game

a few teams are close, but no one team fits the bill.

10. These two stats regarding the Patriots are courtesy of FBG "nerangers" - After 10 games, New England is 5-0 on the road and 2-3 at home. The Patriots have not scored 20 points at home this season and have scored 20 or more points in all five road games.

New England is also the first team in NFL history to win four consecutive road games by 22 points or more in the same season.

11. Trivia Question - A gravy-filled dollop of mashed potatoes to whoever knows the answer to this question. Who is the only TE (no Marques Colston does not count) with two receptions of 40+ yards or more?

12. One man show? - Bills WR Lee Evans had 205 yards receiving against the Texans last week - IN THE FIRST QUARTER  He finished with 265 yards for the day with 11 recs on 16 targets and 2 TD's

Qtr Time Score Down/Dist Yardline Description 1 12:32 0 - 0 3rd-and-6 own 17 caught pass for 83 yards TOUCHDOWN 1 7:17 7 - 0 3rd-and-10 own 3 caught pass for 14 yards (first down) 1 6:45 7 - 0 1st-and-10 own 17 caught pass for 83 yards TOUCHDOWN 1 2:53 14 - 7 1st-and-10 own 27 caught pass for 9 yards 1 2:12 14 - 7 2nd-and-1 own 36 caught pass for 6 yards (first down) 1 0:19 14 - 7 2nd-and-11 opp 47 caught pass for 10 yards13. I can't NOT mention Drew Brees and his 510-yard passing performance against the Bengals last weekTidbits on Brees

* 510 yards passing breakdown by quarter

1st: 109

2nd: 143

3rd: 76

4th: 182

Brees - Home vs. Away Brees has 8 INT at home and only 2 on the road. Everything else looks very similar.

CATEGORY G CMP ATT YD Y/A TD INTRoad 5 126 189 1590 8.4 8 2Home 5 129 195 1530 7.8 9 8 14. Bulger owners - Beware

* The last time Bulger faced SF (week 2) he amassed only 185 yards passing with 1 TD

* SF is averaging 10.0 pts per game on defense in their last 3 games

* Bulger had been sacked 28 times heading into last week's game at Carolina. He now has been sacked 35 times, 3rd most sacks of all QB's. Think things will get easier with Pace out? So far it's really hurting the offense.

* STL has lost 5 straight games, SF has won 3 straight games

And the first to ever win back-to-back games they had trailed by 17.(I think that was the stat on MNF, at least.)

Great post, as always.

Here's a pet stat of mine: the last 16 "scores" for the Chargers have been touchdowns. Poor Kaeding owners!

The Bears defense has yet to allow another offense to compile more than 300 total yards of offense against them in any game. That is pretty solid.
