When a Hate Crime Backfires - Aria, Alexis, & Asha Charged with Assault (1 Viewer)

Big brother is watching:

ALBANY, N.Y. -- An emotional rally, tweets from presidential candidates and NFL players, all spurred by an alleged hate crime --one that police now say didn't happen.

Police released bus footage from the morning of January 30. While the video is only part of the extensive amount of footage, police say at no point did a white male throw a punch or make a racial slur, as the women claimed.

Police say the three purported victims of the attack were actually the ones attacking, and that their story was false. Aria Agudio, Alexis Briggs and Asha Burwell were all charged with third-degree assault, while Agudio and Burwell face additional charges of falsely reporting an incident, as evidenced by 911 calls:
On January 30th a bus full of University of Albany students in varying degrees of sobriety had an incident as the students were exiting.

Three female students called the police to report a hate crime, a group of 20 white students had jumped them and used racial slurs against them.

These little snowflakes didn't realize the bus was equipped with 12 cameras. The footage was reviewed extensively and not a punch or slur from whitey could be found.

The three girls are now facing charges.

There is a video in the link that shows the multiple angles. While the "fight" is pretty tame, there are quite a few cute coeds on the bus, and a guy who manages to escape the melee without spilling his plate of fried food. Kudos to him.

Predict there will be blowback for use of the word "snowflakes" to refer to black women.

So allegations of hate crime are a sword and not a shield.  I guess the question is whether this is an anomaly or a trend.

The news story states the investigation took 300 hours, there were 30+ interviews, and the tapes had to be scrubbed and processed.  That is a lot of wasted resources spent because these chicks lied.

Bizarre. Why do such a thing? That guy would have been facing serious jeapordy, getting charged, being thrown out of school, future career... rotten thing to do to someone.

Racial profiling has been a problem in some parts, but what about racial baiting?

Her 911 call:  "3 of us were jumped by 20 whites on the bus"

The caller was willing to enflame a community, and for what, her own bad behavior.  Now I will never know what started the whole thing.  Maybe there was some disrespect or verbal insults, though that seems unlikely given the ultra P.C. environment on most campuses.  In fact, had there been non-PC provocation I am certain several of the students hearing such would have become comatose with shock and outrage.  I mean, real aggressions, not merely micro aggressions.
