so one league has no waivers so anyone is picked up at any time. since i started goons (jerome harrison) and a spot-start FA D, i want to drop both for others this week. but it says players have played cannot be edited for the day. i have to wait until midnight to drop them?
Yes, you have to wait until after midnight before you can dump a player you started. It might not be right at midnight though....I have found that yahoo is a little slow with the updates at times.
Never really noticed that. So in theory, I can start Glenn Coffee as a flex on Sunday, waive him on Monday morning & pick up another player to start on Monday night? As on example, I have bye week issues this week at WR. I've got Edwards in playing on Monday night & have no other options. By waiving Coffee who is on bye next week, I could pick up Ginn & plug him in? Seems odd that you could get 2 starts out of 1 spot on my roster during the same week.
You can't pick up a player with a Monday night game and have him for that game. I believe I have tried that. You can get them, but it's for the next week.
I have found that I have been able to drop a player who has played on MNF immediately after that game, but you can't do the same on Sunday. It's a bit odd. You can drop somebody you didn't start who has played on Sunday, but I believe you get the player for the following week.
It is definitely sometime *after* midnight EST. I can't quite remember from last year, but am thinking you can make your drop at midnight PST- which is 3am EST. But I am certain it is somewhere between midnight EST and before 4am EST.
@mcd
I think it IS possible in the same week's games to drop a player after he plays Sunday (and certainly Thursday). Then assuming you pick up a player from the Monday night game AND have an open slot to fill in your roster, start the newly acquired player Monday night of the same week. I think I have done that to cover a bye week - dropped the scrub afterward Sunday's game to pick up the kicker I needed from the Monday night game.
[edit] Perhaps Jimmy is correct. My memory (of last season) really is fuzzy enough that I am not sure of myself after reading his post. Seems some expiramenting is in order.
In the case of the MNF games, the reason you can drop immediately is, I am assuming, because it is already the "next" day. Whereas on the Sunday games, most of them end well before midnight.[/edit]
