When doing a trade, how much consideration do you give... (1 Viewer)

I tend to look at this a lot and I don't know if I'm over-analyzing the situation. For example, I am considering trading LJ in one of my leagues. The guy who came with the best offer has LT on his squad and LT wouldn't be part of the trade. So if I go ahead with this deal (that would improve my team) I am creating a team that will have LT/LJ starting every week. The main goal of a trade is to improve your own team, but I don't want to create a potential monster that I will have to compete with as well. Thoughts?

well, I'd like the chance to beat him in the playoffs, but I gotta make it there first :) When a trade is made, both teams felt they got better because of it (unless some cheatin is going on), I'm just curious as to how much people consider what the other team looks like after the trade is done.

I definitely consider it, many reasons why:

1. If I expect to face him in the playoffs.

2. If he's in my division / playing against teams I'm concerned with.

3. If he has room for keepers - how it affects the draft and next year.

4. What kind of surplus it creates for him - what he can deal to my rivals.

etc.
