When will Owners learn (1 Viewer)

I'm a die-hard Dolphin fan as much as it pains me to say. This team is going nowhere fast with Adam Gase in command. The fan base knows it, the media knows it, but Stephen Ross just sits back and let's this once proud franchise crumble. The same can be said in Baltimore and New York with aging Quarterbacks that are obviously past their prime. Why is this happening in today's NFL?

I don't know if Baltimore is in the same conversation. They did trade up to take a QB in the first this year.

The fact is that they don't need to learn anything. They are making boatloads of money whether they win or not. Only thing fans like us can do is refuse to spend any more money on tickets or gear. Watch the games on t.v.

None of this may do any good but at least you will know you are not part of the problem.

Same thing in Green Bay... Need a change there.  Maybe these coaches should just rotate...

Is Gase the issue in MIA?  He’s 20-19 in his tenure there dealing with th3 headwinds of having amongst the worst QB situations in the NFL.

I think he is.  He just doesn't seem like a competent head coach.  However, his team likely wins enough games this year for him to keep his job

Were in week 10 and Flacco has been abysmal for weeks. Jackson should be playing now to get experience for 2019. Harbaugh coming out and saying Flacco will still be the starter coming off their bye just exemplifies my point.

He really is in over his head and really stubborn. He refuses to use his best weapon on offense. Last year it was retread Damien Williams over Drake till Williams got hurt. This year it's ageless wonder Frank Gore out snapping him. I'm beyond done with this guy as head coach.

The Brown family owns the Bengals and are obliviously in it for the revenue sharing.  Welfare programs provide equity but not incentive. The low point for me was when they hired Marvin Lewis back after firing him. Imagine the Phins bringing Gase back because ownership realizes it will be hard to replace a coach who tolerates a  lack of commitment to success.

Getting ready for next season when you are 4-5 is what bad coaches do.

I don't think Gase fits the mold of Ownership not learning from their mistakes either.  Hiring a guy like John Fox or Mike McCoy, or holding onto guys like Jason Garrett, Scott Linehan or Marvin Lewis.

In the case of the latter I appreciate owners holding onto coaches longer than a cup-of-coffee and giving the franchise legitimate continuity. Bill Cowher eventually rewarded the Rooney's for that kind of thinking, but it took 14 seasons.  You have to put a lot of it on ownership's ability to put talent on the roster. I think, at this point, it is fair to say Marvin, while a solid coach, has had enough talent over the years to fairly say that he isn't bringing home more than another wild-card playoff loss to Cinci.

Garrett has outright squandered talent in Dallas over the years and they need to change course quick, fast and in-a-hurry because there is enough talent in place to compete right now. Dak may not be special but plenty of QBs with similar ability have brought home championships with that caliber/combination of OL RB and defensive talent.

Gase may not be very good right now but he is young enough and has accomplished enough as a HC that if Miami hires him he should get another shot IN A FEW YEARS after he goes back and coordinates again.

Don't know the Dolphins so I may not be the best person to comment, but at surface level...

- they have a bottom quartile of the league roster, talent wise.
- QB situation is putrid (and has been).
- is there even a viable #2 WR to speak of?
- their best DL is 37 years old, after letting Suh go.

...not saying Gase is a great coach by any stretch.  Just that in little over 2.5 seasons, he's done a pretty decent job of turning what he inherited into chicken salad.

The OL is kinda a mess too.
