THE NEWS

Ben Roethlisberger is still dealing with his sprained right shoulder, but practiced Wednesday, according to ESPN. He is hopeful he can play in Week 11 and said, "Oh yeah, I'm practicing. I'm going to practice today and every day, unless something happens. It always helps when you're actually out there doing stuff and guys can hear your voice and see the ball come out of your hands. So I think it will help a lot."

Our View

Coach Mike Tomlin previously mentioned that Roethlisberger's struggles were linked to him not practicing early in the week. He has thrown eight interceptions over his last three games and was out of rhythm with his receivers. Hopefully he will be able to play and get back on track against San Diego, whose pass defense is currently ranked last in the NFL.

Anyone starting him vs a pourous SD def? Im starting him over Delhomme. Talk about 2 struggling QBs vs 2 bad defenses.

Since I have Orton and Sage as my other 2, I'm starting Big Ben. Should be a great matchup. I was just checking to see if I needed to pick up Lefty. I want the Pittsburgh QB against the Chargers seive D.

Roethlisberger gets the message, resumes midweek practice

PITTSBURGH -- Steelers coach Mike Tomlin provided the hint, and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger got the message.

After missing significant practice time the past two weeks, Roethlisberger practiced with the Steelers (6-3) Wednesday despite his sprained right shoulder.

Participating with the team Wednesday has Roethlisberger optimistic that he will play Sunday against the San Diego Chargers (4-5).

"Oh yeah, I'm practicing," he said. "I'm going to practice today and every day, unless something happens. It always helps when you're actually out there doing stuff and guys can hear your voice and see the ball come out of your hands. So I think it will help a lot."
