Way back in 2001, people around here were knocking LT as overrated, because he played weak competition in college. Forget McAllister, he was injured, and injury prone. Both got drafted before Michael Bennett. But on these boards, Bennett was the "best."

Where are all you Bennett supporters today?

Maybe hiding with the Addai = Arrington and Gore sucks people

Not grinding an axe... having fun. Bottom line is, so many people just follow the FBG mob-mentality. LT is a good example because he's tearing it up, whereas the guy people touted is pining away (no pun intented) on the bench. Even this year most touted LJ or SA before LT. didn't Switz hate Kevin Jones at the beginning of the year. And for the record Michael Bennett's career was a much bigger success then Onterrio Smith.

But, for what it's worth, Bennett has been an awesome backup to Larry Johnson and has defined change-of-pace back; LJ wears the defense down and then Bennett comes in, outruns the defense and busts a 20-yard gain.

FBG was here. Some people preferred Bennett to LT before their rookie seasons in 2001. More memorable for me is that a lot of people preferred Anthony Thomas to LT after their rookie seasons, heading into the following year. A.Thomas got rookie of the year that year even though Tomlinson had more rushing yards, more receiving yards, more touchdowns, and obviously better physical talent. But a lot of people (I believe most) had Anthony Thomas rated higher than Tomlinson in 2002.More recently, a lot of people thought Eli was better than Rivers, too. Mistake of the same proportions.
