Where do we rank Orton (1 Viewer)

In terms of NFL QBs and Fantasy QBs. Was listening to the radio today and they were discussing how Orton was the most valuable chip on the team. Hilarity considering the same clowns were saying he would most likely lose his starting position to Simms within a couple weeks.

So where do we rank him going forward?

At this point I won't shy away from the word "elite". Lets just put it out there.

He is a qb #2. in fantasy until they decide to open things up. He is getting alot of hype right now, but when the ball is rolling for a team, its rolling...doesn't matter if its uphill or down. Let's see how great he is once Denver faces some adversity.

I would not mind having him as a backup.

 as well. I don't think I'm out on a limb when I say that a QB has rarely walked into a more adverse situation than this one. The donks schedule hasn't exactly been lightweight either. So again...

leading the Broncos on a 98-yard game-tying TD drive in the 4th quarter against the Patriots doesn't count as "facing adversity"?

Orton has been great so far but he's not a top-10 QB yet.

Drafted him as my backup to Romo, and I'll tell you what, Orton has been getting a average of 20 pts per game in my league. If Romo ####s the bed again this week, Orton is my starter. I'll take 20 pts every week that I can count on rather than Romo being as inconsistent as he has been.

Also, Orton doesn't hurt you whereas Romo is all over the map with incompletes and INT's

He's 14th in ppg so far in my league. I'd say that's almost exactly where I'd rank him. Maybe a couple spots lower for dynasty as I doubt he'll ever be a top 5 guy.

In real life is he on the cusp of the top 5?
top 5 = Brady, PManning, Brees, Roethlisburger and Warner. Next tier includes Rivers, McNabb, Ryan, Palmer, Favre. After that is Flacco, Shaub, Rodgers, Eli, and Girrard. I'd say Orton is on the cusp of cracking the third group, or on the cusp of top 15.

10-15. I am happy with him backup up Schaub.
 Though I actually toyed with starting him over Schaub last week. Glad I talked myself out of that one.

Agreed. And game situations aside, I think this whole team faced a ton of adversity coming into the season after everyone in the football world criticized to death every move they made and wrote them off for dead. Orton especially was right in the middle of all that criticism, as he was the guy replacing Cutler whom many expected him to fail miserably. This whole team has spit in the face of adversity all season long and Orton is the leader of that group.
