Where does Vick's comeback rank? (1 Viewer)

Ministry of Pain

Down 31-10 with about 7 minutes to go and orchestrates one of the greatest comebacks in history...

I was in awe watching this happen. When Reid blew the challenge and New York scored I thought for sure game over. Philly fans at the bar...thought we were going to have to call the paramedics...Giants fans at the bar...we did have to call the paramedics.

OMG :hot:

I certainly can't think of a better one in my lifetime.

You gotta be pretty young. Frank Reich ring a bell?

One of the best since the HOU - BUF comeback back in the 80s or 90s.

That game was tied up just about by the end of the 3rd Q...Vick did it under 7 minutes. Great comeback you bring up but it wasn't as dramatic so late in the game. You don't have to post the margin, we all know it was a bigger margin.

Yeah but I am thinking great finishes.... as I recall 38-35 final score in that game.... entire 2nd half was exciting... IMO, today's game had much of the same feel.

Bigger is more impressive. Also, the return TD that won it was not Vick. He was on the winning team though. He played a mojor part but it wasn't all him. It pretty much was all Frank. As a team, it was impressive.

Coming back from being down 29 with thirty minutes remaining isn't necessarily a more impressive comeback than being down 21 with seven minutes remaining. It's more total points to come back from, sure. But he also had 23 extra minutes to work with to do it.

OK, now you're jus being goofy.I saw both games. The Buffalo comeback was incredible but it was different. And Frank Reich was not a 1 man wrecking crew...he had Beebe and Reed to help him out too. Vick had 130 yds rushing to go with 240+ passing, he scored or threw for 4TDs in the final 20 minutes...3 of them inside of 7:30 minutes to go. You want to call it a team effort, all football is a team effort. There's no way Philly comes back if Vick didn't put them on his shoulders. If you watched that game it was nothing short of incredible. If you think Buffalo had a bigger comeback or more impressive, good for you. I think Philly and what Vick did was the most impressive comeback I have seen. Everyone at the bar said game over with 7:30 minutes left, then suddenly Vick storms the place. The DeSean Jackson return was really poor judgement by the Giants' punter...not sure Phily would have been stopped anyways had they gotten the ball in OT with all the momentum. Amazing game.

I loved the "Alcoa presents Fantastic Finishes" back in the day. This is one thing I wouldn't mind seeing some other sponsor (even Alcoa?) bring back.

That being said, this game would have been perfect for one of those commercials.

Peyton Manning vs the Bucs in 2003?

21 down with three and a half minutes to go.

That was insane.

I was watching the game with my mom, and at about the 5 or 6 minute mark, I told her that Vick was playing like a man who simply wouldn't allow himself to be denied--reminded me of Vince Young in the national championship game against USC. He put that team on his back and had his way with one of the best defenses in the NFL. I have to imagine that he won the confidence and respect of single player on that team today, if he didn't have it already. I just feel lucky that I was able to witness it--definitely one of the most exciting and impressive feats I've ever witnessed in an NFL game.

This was the one I was going to mention, as well as the Buffalo-Houston game and sadly the Jets-Dolphins MNF game. This game goes along with those other 3 in my list of best all-time comebacks.

Indy's comeback against the Bucs ranks higher.

Also, San Fran's playoff comeback against the Giants a while back is up there too.

Great game. I enjoyed it. It's kind of dooshy to take anything away from the Eagles by comparing this win to other huge comebacks in NFL history.

But Frank Reich still says hi.

Add in 9-4 teams playing for the division basically and I think this comback nudges the TB/Indy game which ws played in like week 6 or something. Also there was a mystery leaping call on Simeon Rice in that game IIRC...wasn't much phantom work by Vick.

Put it ths way, most of the games others are mentioning would all make the new Alcoa commericals, I just happen to like this one best.
