Where has Reggie Brown been? (1 Viewer)

It's one of the oddities of this early fantasy season. Along with the disappearance of Lee Evans is the vanishing of Reggie Brown. Both were fairly highly ranked going into this year, both came off breakout seasons, both are healthy and have played in each game.

Having watched the Buffalo game Monday night, I know what the problem with Lee Evans is.....they're just not throwing him the ball. Heck, they're not even looking his way.

On the other hand, I have yet to watch an Eagles game. Is this the same case for R. Brown?

I would love some insight.

Your theory is correct for Brown... HE's the one they're not throwing the ball to. Only 23 targets this entire season so far... on top of that he's only caught 8 of those for a measly 81 yards.Lee Evans has a few more targets: 31 -- but isn't doing any better as he has only made 12 catches for 113 yards.Neither one has a reception percentage above 40% -- If I were a QB, Iwould be trying to stay away from throwing to them as well.Sadly, I only care to post this because I hope it will relieve some of my pent-up frustration as a Reggie Brown contract owner thru 2009 (money counting against my salary cap each season) in my Dynasty league. Arrrrrrgh! Please DO SOMETHING REGGIE!

I will say, though, if there's a week to start him, this is probably it. Going against the NYJ, coming off a bye, if he's not targeted this week, you can get rid of him.

I drafted Brown in my Keep 3 league in the third round (basically a 6th round pick), and after watching McNabb look at other guys and Brown not take the opportunities given to him (drops, etc.), I moved him. What bothered me most is that I could have waited for McNabb to get on track, but he was virtually invisible in the Detroit game when McNabb lit it up. If you can hold onto him, go for it...but I looked up his stats last year and he had roughly 49 catches for 849 yards at about 17.7 yards per catch. Those liknd of guys worry me and can be streaky like Lelie and Evans.

almost need to start him this week. He is dropped if he doesnt get it done. Hopefully he knows I have put this pressure on him and has a great game to stay on my team.

just got offered Jerry Porter for Reggie... they're both stinking it up this year, but there is a chance Porter can step it up with C-pep at the helm... i already believe the McNabb doesn't like Brown.

going to go pull the trigger right now as i just talked myself into it.

FBG Forums are great therapy!

If you were buying into the hype of Reggie Brown being a #1 WR, I feel bad for you. Brown is just an average WR and I don't see that changing. The other thing that is hurting Brown is that McNabb will rarely force a ball into a WR. As an Eagles WR, if you want a ball thrown your way - you better be wide open. Brown is rarely wide open.

:wall: Exactly. The dude is NEVER open.

He's been open on more than one occasion only to have a pass sail behind, or over his head. In the Washington game he clearly had the inside position on a slant in the endzone only to have the ball thrown behind him. Earlier in the game he was open only to have the pass thrown over his head and was damn near decapitated by Sean Taylor in his efforts to snatch it. There is enough blame to go around; wideouts not consistently beating press coverage, erratic offensive line play paired with an immobile and overly cautious quarterback and the ever-present pass happy play calling. There have been several interviews with people from NFL films Baldinger, Jaws etc. and they have said to a man that to place the blame solely at the feet of the wide receivers isn't fair. Hopefully things will improve with Westbrook & LJ looking like they're ready to return. A more balanced offense would help immensely (play action is their bread & butter) but I have given up hope with this lot of like-minded, pass happy slapdicks.
