Where is the TE production? (1 Viewer)

This is something I find strange about this season, the lack of production at TE. I can't remember a more athletic group of players at the TE position. There are some tremendous athletes. Desmond Clark is the leading scorer at this point, Desmond Clark. Anyone see that coming? And a bunch of the TEs that were rated high are really not doing much so far, Crumpler, Witten, McMichael, and Cooley come to mind. Last year Gates was a monster and this year he has been a disappointment at best. Only Desmond Clark and LJ Smith have managed to score in double figures, in my PPR leagues, both weeks. In week one there were a dozen TEs that scored in double figures. In week two there were 6. And three of those six were John Gilmore, Owen Daniels, and David Martin. Maybe it will turn around, but it seems that a bunch of highly rated TEs are going to diappoint this year.

TE is a disappointing position every year. In any given year there is only a couple TE's who put up good numbers. If after a TE has a huge year like a Keith Jackson they can disappoint the next. TE is a consistantly low productive position, but every once in a while you strike gold. Most of the time you have to settle for scraps.
