Where will Owens land (2 Viewers)

I see this as an increasing likely scenario and highly probable. What teams might take a 1 year flier on him?

Roughly from most likely to least likely, teams that need a WR and are close enough to the playoffs to make a one year rental worth the risk:

Oakland

Tampa Bay

Baltimore

Tennessee

Jacksonville

Washington

Chicago

San Francisco

A new stadium in 2009 and they're going to release TO?
There's been a ton of chatter about it:One of many writers reporting that TO may be done in Dallas

Now, for the real news out of Dallas regarding Terrell Owens. Peter King wrote this yesterday in his Monday Morning QB, and I believe he is dead-on accurate. When, not if, is the real question everyone is asking about T.O. He will not be back, but the team is still deciding when to make the announcement of his termination or trade.

Maybe Jones can work a trade out to send Owens to the Raiders since they have a huge need at wideout and have never been afraid to take on a big challenge. This will be interesting to follow as it develops.

With TO's path of destruction, I'll say he ends up in the unemployment line.....and no team gambles on him.

He is a :tfp: waiting to happen.

The best place for T.O. to land would be an uninhabited planet where there'll be NO doubt he'll be the man, the star, the one and only he's always claimed to be and craved so desperately. Since I'm not completely heartless I'd send along a mirror so he'll have someone to talk to, agree with and he won't be too lonely.

Should he however, if God hates me that much, end up on the San Francisco 49ers I'll definitely be rooting for another team the rest of my life. Even rooting for Al Davis' team would be better than a T.O. 49ers team. Give me the Lions as well.

All those teams would kill TO's value. Oddly, his production might be highest in TEN, where he should get tons of red zone targets, but I doubt Fisher would want him.

I realize all that. Of course, the resident Cowboys faithful always seem quick to point out how reporters like to stir up trouble between TO and the Star, so I'll believe it when I see it.

...because we ALL know a reporter never bends the truth or exagerates.

TO seems like a natural fit for the Ravens on multiple levels.
TO to B-More is never going to happen. Although I would love to see a TO for Ray Ray deal. :hophead: I for one never thought Dallas was going to release TO but it looks as if this might happen. There will be a lot of changes that go down if TO gets released/traded. I could see another wr coming to town via free agency/trade. Splash it up Jerry. Austin is also ready for a stating position if his butt could stay healthy. The three headed monster will be running a lot more next year in big D Barber/Jones/Choice

I agree he would be useful in Ten, but the Fisher part is really interesting...Fisher never seems to have malcontents on his roster (like Belicheck). Is it because he steers clear of them or because he can control them?

Well, my first reaction is he would have to go to a team with a coach that could handle him. And he wants to go to a contender for sure. I could see TEN, but there's QB issues. I would say PIT would be the best situation for him, I don't think Tomlin would boss him, rather he would relate, respect Tomlin enough.

I dunno, his options are very limited though. I think this is the first time he'll have to choose between money and a contender though

IIRC, Ray Ray is a FA. No trade necessary.

The 800 pound gorilla nobody is talking about is what is going to happen assuming TO stays in Dallas.

The ingredients are there for the biggest mushroom cloud of TO's now infamous career.

Should be fun to watch.

TO gets traded to the Jets for Coles.
why would they trade a valuable asset in Coles for a guy that's gonna get cut?I don't know if Fisher would want the headache but he could take the Titans offense to a new level.

Well, he's been with the Iggles and then the Cowpukes...so, naturally he should end up with NYG or the 'Skins.
The Giants have their own garbage to deal with in Burress so I doubt they'd take a spin but I could definitely see Danny Boy getting involved....

Not to mention that if Coles is not on the Jets next year its because they want to creat salary cap space. TO's salary >>> Coles'.

I dont think Tennessee would touch him with a 10 foot pole. They learned their lesson with Pacman.

Oakland obviously fits.

But he're another crazy idea. New England. Bellicheck has handled primadonas before. Brady would tell him to ####. It would be ridiculous with Moss, Welker, and TO. Potentially sick, sick, sick.

He was traded to Balt. a few years back and refused to play there.

I would love to see that happen. Run the old hook and ladder. Pass to Moss with TO running behind to catch a lateral when Moss gets tackeld. Next series, do the opposite.TO would have to be willing to play for peanuts, which won't happen.

I might be mistaken on this, but I don't believe that the 'Skins have ever traded with the Cowboys under Snyder. If they did it was something extremely minor like swapping late round picks on draft day or something, but I don't even recall that. Moreover, I don't see this sort of a deal happening because for better or worse they drafted their upgrades at WR last year and now they need to see if they'll pan out. I think he's going to remain with the Cowboys.

If both Moss and TO were on the same team I think their heads (and NE's season) would implode. Talk about a complete mess.

If the Redskins had any other coach than Zorn - I could see them being a player there - but since Zorn already has his hands full with a generally mild mannered team guy like Portis, I think Owens would chew him up and spit him out.

 Plus, even though they are bringing Kerry Collins back, you know they are wanting Vince Young to get better enough to take over sooner than later, and Owens and his attitude and the way he treats QBs could set Young back tremendously (in his overall play as a QB, not necessarily in his numbers).

That was obviously a joke if you start out reading my post from the beginning of the sentence, but Balt could still franchise him and then look to deal him right? :nerd:

Yeah, I know hence the TO to Baltimore is never going to happen statement.
