Where will the Law land? (1 Viewer)

As a Kansas City fan I know King Carl will not pony up the cash that Ty Law is stating is required for his services. Everyone knows how pathetic our secondary is and how much we could really use this guy for a two year span. Locally I believe that he would be a sensational addition to our team.

Ok so here is my question - Where will he eventually land?

When I look around I can not see him playing for New England again, although I realize New England would pay at least as much as Chiefs for his services. I think the Arizona headlines are pure fluff in trying to increase his chances of signing sooner or later. I see Tennessee being a very viable option over and above the Seattle option when you look at cap room especially now that McNair is out of the picture. What are your thoughts?

Locally everyone is saying on the talk radios that he will be a late signing because as a veteran he wants to get away from the minicamps scenarios. I look at this argument as a waste of breath because you know if you were unemployed you would look at everything possible to get back to work sooner than later.

Real issue with this is to what extent would he be willing to mortgage our teams future with the cap. We have a geritol cortizone team in the making and Law aint exactly young either. Problem is we need him to help push our team while it is still viable before we get to our KC Royals youth movement LOL.

New England but it's customary for him to bark about money for a while first;)

How about Indy, so he can't illegally knock Harrison out of bounds after 5 yds during practice?

Ty Law is easilly, EASILLY the most over rated player in (or near) the NFL today.

People see that lofty 10 INT stat and think he's a turn over machine. My observations as a Jets fan, having watched every Jets game from 2005 at least twice, is that he is more a defensive liabilty than he is a help. From a fantasy IDP perspective, he still has value. IDP players know why. Opposing offenses pick on what they think is the weakness of the defense. Enter Ty Law.

He took a ridiculous number of penalties, particularly through week 11. He holds because he can't cover anymore. He also abandons his assignments, ball hawking. Of his 10 INT's, 4 were "tip plays". This was a drill the Jets D backfield practiced every day. When defending a pass, they try to tip the ball to another defender. Because Law was often out of position, he benefitted from that immensley.

3 of his 10 INT's came in week 17 against Buffalo, another team that was in a spiral at the time, with a turnstile at the QB position. The Jets young safeties were getting caught out of position because they knew they had to cover Law's assignments deep, and they saved quite a few TD's by cheating to help Law deep. Law was always jumping patterns trying to get INT's.

Law can no longer make tackles in space on any sort of consistant basis.

Lastly, Rookie Justin Miller had his seat in meetings moved away from Law, reportedly (and by several NY beat reporters) because he was a bad influence. So much so, Law was actually excused from the team's Monday meetings! He was up in Boston hanging out with his buddies from the Pats!

This isn't sour grapes from a Jets homer.... if I thought he was worth it, I'd want him back. I'm not alone..... there is barely a brave soul on the Jets message boards that disagree.

The only place he could land where he would help a team is in NE. Belichick would NOT tolerate his antics. KC fans, be VERY careful what you wish for.

Yeah people think he's some kind of Sanders shut down corner you bring in to win the SB. Um no. Unless he's playing Peyton Manning every week, he's not even a top 25 CB.

Since I believe Ty will go where he gets offered the most cake my guess is Arizona. While Denny has done a nice job acquiring talent the Cards still aren't getting it done in the won lost column. Therefore I see Green being more apt to make a short term move. It makes sense for him. It would bode very well for him if the Cards finish over .500 this year and contend for a playoff spot. It would really take the pressure off of him and put his stamp on the franchise. Since Law would definetly help Arizona I could see them deciding to up the ante. I don't think they'll do something foolish but I could see them putting a package together that makes Law happy.

One of the big problems with Law last year was the Jets were expecting Ty Law of five years ago. He's no longer that player. He can still be a highly productive player but he needs to be on a team that knows how to use him at the stage of his career he is at. I know as a Pats fan I'd love to have him back in Foxboro as I have no doubt that BB will get the most out of what he has left.

I see the potential of TY LAW in a Kansas City uniform as very very far from being a savior. I agree with the posts that he has definately lost a few steps to father time hence my geritol comment earlier. What I also recognize is the fact that when you look at the available CB market it is non existant to say the least. I mean seriously Lenny Walls or Benny Sapp is our next best alternative. Law will at least even if out of position allow us to field a player that for one or two years would buy us time and give us some level of consistency in our backfield cover corners. I also believe his days as a cover corner are coming to an end but man the guy would be a stud safety in the league. As an example to our KC head office braintrust kept Eric DUI Warfield after his multi game suspension only to release him this year. Eric Warfield in my opinion would be one of the best nickels in the game. What I am saying is we need a body that is proven and capable and Law fits that mold. Is he the long term solution - NO, is he a viable solution - Yes.

LOL, I would be happy with a playoff berth or even for that matter being a wild card. I think a trip to Miami is out of the question in Kansas City.

Ok looking back this guy is a factor on the much unheralded KC Defense. 10 quarters without a touchdown for KC Defense and not a single pass play touchdown in 3 games. Law is a factor.
