Where will the Skill position rookies land in the draft? (1 Viewer)

Since Mock Drafts, combines, and pro days will consume our FF world outside of Free agency....I figured it could be fun and insightful.

-One reason why it could be constructive is to potentially figure out where say....Dez Bryant will land....then how much of an impact that could have on his career...hence his rookie value in regards to trading.

#4 Washington- Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame

-Shanny needs a mobile QB to run his offense and Clausen has been in a pro offense for three years.

***Fantasy impact....Shanny will help with his development, but the OL isn't great so that will have Clausen looking like his first few years at ND. The good thing is Washington has a lot of potential talent around him: Santana Moss, Devin Thomas(3rd year WR next year), Malcom Kelly(3rd year WR next year), Randel el, Chris Cooley, Fred Davis, Portis(if he comes back healthy).

#6 Seattle- Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State

-Carroll's best teams have had a great WR(Mike Williams, Dwayne Jarrett). While I would like the Seahawks to go OT, OT with their two first rounds picks. But when all is said and done with the evaluation process...Dez Bryant will be one of the best players in this draft.

*****Fantasy impact....Dez can learn from some good WR's that have been in the league awhile(Housh, Branch, Burleson). He also has a solid QB(if healthy) throwing him the ball...which helps out his rookie year #'s.

-#9 Buffalo- Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma

-Gailey can't pass up Bradford at this point...even though he knows he needs to turn around the Bills quickly to keep his job long term.

*****Fantasy impact.....Bradford goes into possibly the worst situation he could imagine. The Bills have Lee Evans and....James Hardy....Steve Johnson for talented WRs.....Shawn Nelson as a young TE will help...Lynch is stealing 20's from people.....Fred Jackson isn't young....and that OL isn't a positive on the offense.

-#12 Miami- Ryan Mathews RB Fresno State

-Its no secret the Dolphins claim to success is to run the football. Ronnie Brown's latest injury is probably the end of his run in Miami and Ricky Williams is already old. They need another RB that can help with the run game/Wildcat....but also runs with an attitude.

****Fantasy impact.....Mathews jumps into probably the best situation that he could: a young team in need of a RB, dedicated to running the football, and has a good young OL. If this happens he should win ROY.

-#14 Seattle- CJ Spiller RB Clemson

-Carroll again goes with a skill position player based out of tendancies...he has had some great speed/agile RB's lead him at USC(Reggie Bush, Joe McKnight) and JJ/Forsett aren't the answer.

******Fantasy impact....Hasselback will have 4 good WRs(Bryant, Housh, Branch, Burleson....heck even Deon Butler could develop) along with Carleson....and now Spiller to make the Seahawks a powerful skill position based offense. Spiller will be used properly(as Carroll has done at USC) taking advantage of matchups and using players strengths to give him a solid rookie year.

-#21 Bengals- Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma

-Cinci needs a TE to help stretch the passing game outside of Ocho Cinco and Gresham can help that happen.

****Fantasy impact.....Gresham starts immediately and has a good rookie season snagging passes from Palmer especially in the redzone(remember how he liked a tall Chris henry in the red zone).

-#22 Patriots- Jahvid Best RB Cal

-Kevin Faulk is in his 30's and is still productive....but not as good as he was in his youth. Best can give the passing game a boost and make defenses account for more than Moss and Welker/Edelman.

More to come later...but off to lunch.

what round? that sucker punch probably landed him in the second day of the draft.

in the nfl it prolly bumped him up a few spots, but guaranteed him some extra clauses in his contract.

The only ones I have a hunch about right now:

Sam Bradford --> Washington

Demaryius Thomas --> Baltimore

I don't think the 9ers will take Spiller. Gore is a good receiving back and they have greater needs elsewhere.
