In Absentia was awesome, but most of Porcupine Tree's stuff in recent years has been underwhelming, IMO.

I disagree. Okay, Fear of a Blank Planet, while very good, was underwhelming by their standards, but Deadwing, The Incident and the Nil Recurring EP are all tremendous. Still, nothing beats Lightbulb Sun and Stupid Dream.

And that is the answer. No one, and I mean NO ONE, has made consistently killer music over the past decade like these guys. Doubt me? Go get Robot Hive/Exodus or Blast Tyrant, then spend a couple of days reveling in the rock. If you are not completely satisfied, I will buy either one or both back. At fair market value, of course.

Although... whoever said Porcupine Tree wasn't wrong. That is one incredible band. Steven Wilson understands what it means to take everything that came before and make it into something new. And Gavin Harrison would give Neil Peart a run for his money.

My 21 year old son got me into these guys a little over a year ago. Amazing band that puts on an incredible live show. Saw them twice last year and already bought tickets for their Spring "Evening With" Neverender 2 tour.
